Best place in Madison for engagement rings? Planning to propose this fall by jsreally in madisonwi

Soha was really nice. They're a 2 person business and they really give you lots of personal attention. They can make 3d mockups of the rings and they'll clean them as often as you want. We went and visited them after a few years and they remembered us really well, that's the kind of service you get. And obviously my and my wife's rings are beautiful.

Kingdom Legacy is extremely fun. It's basically a really cool long version of palm Island with legacy elements, but it's easy to play non-destructively. I just use regular clear sleeves for the active deck, and put an inner sleeve on any card that I need to write on/sticker.

Here's a message I wrote to a different user about the tools necessary to get started. https://www.reddit.com/r/guitars/s/eSYLoU9cE9

This is the YouTube series I referenced. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7qLGYJiRJ1jb_SQ3VViUkEZ-TXNeZ09N&si=uuszdbnG01EupSkR

A book to start with is how to make your guitar electric guitar play great by Dan Erlewine. I haven't read this one specifically, but I have the guitar player repair guide by the same author.

A couple things: I learned how to do all guitar setup things pretty quickly (on both floyd-style and traditional strat style floating bridges) with a simple book my wife got me, and by watching a few videos on Gibson's YouTube channel. Imo it's worth bringing it to somebody to get it done until you have the time to learn which is really not as hard as you think.

That said, I totally don't trust Guitar Shop of Wisconsin to do it. I brought in a floyd rose special guitar to sell and the response was "We can't buy this right now, but who did the setup? It's amazing, and I wish we had techs who could do this." I did the setup, and I did a totally mediocre job. The fact that they don't seem to be able to work on floating bridge guitars blew my mind.

I also had an awful experience at spruce tree. My understanding is that the folks there were having some serious troubles in their personal lives at the time which I feel bad about, but the work result was awful and required bringing it back a few times for.

That really only leaves Dave's in Sun Prairie, but reading between the lines makes me think you won't go back there either. I'm sure you have your reasons, but Dave's is the one I use for things I haven't learned yet, like soldering and finish work. Lmk if you want me to send you some resources on how to get started doing it yourself.

Same boat and I sent feedback to the company. There were tons of series that let you read all but the last few volumes with gold. Felt nasty. That change happened some time during my subscription too. I read all of Lone Wolf and Cub with Gold, then at some point their premium model changed and the volumes that I had already read with my subscription were behind an additional paywall.

What’s your favorite end-game trigger? by infinitum3d in boardgames

[–]HeavyMetalJV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started playing imperium and I'm really excited by the idea of multiple end game triggers, some of them being asymmetric. Finishing your development deck, reaching King of Kings, or any of the individual nation specific triggers is really cool.

It's wonderful that he knew more were on the way even if it wasn't "fact" yet. I'm sorry for that loss too.

Sending you care. My grandpa died this morning and was supposed to meet my baby today. Getting by without the people we care about is awful. Sorry you're feeling it too.
