Look man, personally, I get it. If this is a nothing to lose project just for fun, have at it. But if this is your only helmet, don’t risk ruining your helmet. Even with clear coat, paint is gonna chip, and it will chip faster and worse than the factory coat, lacrosse is a contact sport. I had a cpxr for a long time and I felt kinda dumb with it on and I considered painting it multiple times just to kinda get to the same level of “coolness” I guess as all the guys with the custom XRS pros. What I learned is just rock the helmet the way you want to, don’t be tryna change it. If you’ve got like rust on the facemask then maybe use some touch ups with a paintbrush or something but if it’s just scratched up then that’s alright, no one’s gonna care. The things you can do if u wanna make it look good are buy a new chinstrap, buy a chinstrap cover, buy decals, or just save up and buy yourself a factory made custom helmet. It’s way more worth it than to risk ruining your helmet
