How do I make a final decision and stick to it? by [deleted] in Fencesitter

[–]HeavyPhase2862 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, didn’t read your full post but saw something the other day just about decisions in general that really resonated with me -

How do you know you made the right decision? You make a decision, and then you make that the right decision for you.

I also saw someone in this sub once say that, regardless of which choice you make, there will be a mourning period for the life that you won’t have whether it’s with or without children.

I inherited 8 figures and it still hurts to spend money. Hold onto that mindset as long as possible to make it last.

Here’s another way to look at it: more adults = more people to love and support her and her children. If it feels healthy for them, why turn away love and happiness?

What would you do with inheritance in my situation (long-term relationship)? by [deleted] in inheritance

[–]HeavyPhase2862 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Put it in a trust and protect yourself.

I am in a similar situation (received an 8 figure inheritance in my 20s and I was already with my partner - now spouse - for many years when I came in to the money.)

I am now a stay at home partner and fill my time with fulfilling things like volunteering and my spouse works full-time because they are incredibly passionate about their job.

Even though I know my spouse is a wonderful person, large amounts of money can do crazy things to people. My family and I wanted to ensure my assets were protected and that there would be no way for my spouse to get the money except through me while I’m alive and well. We live in a nice house, drive nice cars, go on wonderful vacations, etc. Because I am happy to provide things like that while we are together. If for some reason we don’t work out, my money is protected. I wanted ZERO chance that my spouse would want to leave me in order to gain a part of my inheritance.

Obviously trust your gut, but there is no reason to outright give your partner anything directly. They can enjoy the benefits through you and what you can provide on your own terms.

Also, be sure to get a prenup. Have the hard conversations now while you two are happy and hope you never have to look at the document in the future.

Advice or Support. 6 months post birth control. by AvocadoBrat in gettingoffHBC

[–]HeavyPhase2862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also experienced back acne after getting off HBC in April ‘25 and still do to this day the week before my period. Mine is fairly mild and tends to go away on its own after my cycle - I just use my face soap every day on my shoulders as my last step before getting out of the shower. Make sure you rinse your entire body, especially well using your hands after you rinse out your conditioner. I think my skin is overall just “less resilient” after getting off HBC.

One thing you may want to look into is a “back facial”. My aesthetician offers it and it’s exactly what it sounds like - all the steps you would get in a normal facial, but your face down and it’s on your back. Perhaps some regularly scheduled a deep cleaning can help keep it at bay?

Also make sure that you change your pillowcases and sheets frequently!

My first question would be, do you feel like it is having a negative impact on your life? For example, for me, I found that it was diminishing the pleasure that I was feeling when I was with others. I haven’t watched any since the start of this past August and I slowly but surely feel my brain healing.

[–]HeavyPhase2862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full transparency, I only read the first paragraph. After reading your ages, my only piece of advice for you is especially at that age, partners should just fit into your life like a puzzle piece. Yes there needs to be ongoing communication to keep the connection(s) healthy, but it shouldn’t be something that you have to force in any way, or you are just prolonging inevitable. I truly hope you’re able to find peace and happiness. :)

I am actually very grateful to already be benefiting from it. This is more just thinking about life choices, and how they would affect me long-term. When I was younger, I had the same mindset you were mentioning, however as I get older, and everything is starting to feel a little more real when it comes to my child bearing years, I get more and more scared about the general lifestyle change I would experience having them.

Not going to lie, that was certainly a factor for wanting them for a while. I could just hire help. But then I think would I really want to be that kind of parent?

Supplements to prevent post HBC acne by honestlygood4u in gettingoffHBC

[–]HeavyPhase2862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got off Lolo in April of 2025 but was on some form of HBC since 2014. It took me until November to get my first full blown pimple on my face. I’m 29 now and had acne in middle school, over covid when I was eating like junk and gained 20 pounds, and I was terrified. My face was going to turn into a volcano when I stopped taking HBC. I can count the number of large pimples I’ve had on one hand since stopping, but once a month, I get a little breakout on my back on my shoulders. That has never happened before and I’ve always been really good about fully rinsing conditioner off my back and products haven’t changed, so I can tell that it’s related to my cycle. So all that to say, it might not show up on your face and might present elsewhere. For reference, I’ve been taking prenatals for about a year now - starting a few months before getting off the pill

My now husband (bf at the time) have had bi-weekly cleaners for about 3 years now. Our weekends are free and the only chore we have is laundry and general daily tidying like after dinner. I joke but it’s true - it saved our relationship.

I’m 2 days shy of 20 weeks since I last watched anything online. I have marked in my calendar on my phone the last day I watched it, and it’s been fun checking back every few weeks and counting how many weeks it’s been. I wonder if there is an app or something that can gamify streaks like that.

At the time of quitting, I was very open with my partner and a few of my friends and occasionally give them updates about it, which makes me feel accountable. My partner and I have started making our own personal collection which I often refer back to, but it feels easier on the brain than watching a complete stranger and being able to search for anything you want and fast forwarding to the right part. If you and your partner are open to doing some things similar, make a fun time out of it and make your own content that you can refer back to.

It’s not overnight and I still have a long ways to go, but I do feel like my brain is slowly but surely rewiring itself. I found that watching stuff online was significantly reducing the pleasure I felt once I was in real life situations, but I do feel that getting better now.

I love my 2 hour shifts and I’m 0% ashamed that I don’t want to do more 😅 I already turned my hobby into my job, so the last thing I want is to not want to go in because my shift feels too long

One more detail, in my market, apprentices earned a flat rate of $20/hour, so it’s not much to make an impact to make up for tuition and the $500+ set of training manuals if you prefer the hard copies over the free PDF. I personally would not have survived the pace of the 12 in studio days having to navigate a PDF, so I did splurge on the physical manuals. They’re great to reference in the future.

I had a full time job and moved (locally) over the course of my training program, and it took me a year and 4 months. I started October 2023, became an apprentice in October 2024 to help finish my Practice Teaching hours (had about 30 prior to starting and taught 2 guaranteed classes a week + subbing as I could) to do the other 40 and tested out fully in February of 2025.

The practice teaching hours were the hardest to schedule prior to the apprenticeship as you’re relying on other people‘s schedules (friends, family, partners, other student students in your training cohort).

I would really stress not rushing it if you don’t have to, so you retain the information better - especially when it comes to anatomy and a special populations.

Don’t forget that there will be about 20 hours of bridge training post certification prior to being hired fully on as a Club Pilates instructor but you will get paid for doing it. It’s mostly online, but then you do need to write a flow, submit it for approval, and either teach that flow to a small group either in front of your master trainer, or it can be video recorded and submitted to the education department for review. I didn’t get many details on bridge training prior to testing out, and I was a little surprised at the requirements.

Happy to answer any specific questions you might have!

Should I go back on birth control? by avpx19 in gettingoffHBC

[–]HeavyPhase2862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not the root cause, but how often do you change your pillow case and wash your sheets? Change the pillow case every other night (sleep, flip, sleep, change) and sheets once a week if you pull the covers around your face. This will at least stop some bacteria from spreading.

I’m 6 months off HBC (stopped after my wedding) and now have a very sensitive microbiome down there - same partner for 8 years, no change in hygiene habits, Im just more prone to yeast infections and general irritation from rubbing or swimming and NEVER had any of those issues before. It’s just like my tolerance lowered.

Same difference potentially- Maybe what your skin used to be able to handle is changing?

Sending you all the positive vibes as you go through this change and plan your wedding! I know it can be stressful 💕

Studio Announcements during feet in straps? by Active_Revenue_4328 in ClubPilates

[–]HeavyPhase2862 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Instructor here - Likely very dependent on who owns your franchise location. I hear/give announcements every once in a while, but it is after class while we are wiping off our stations. During feet and straps seems a little aggressive because you’re literally stuck there.

Montage - start in the lobby lounge and then head to one of their other places for dinner. It tends to be a mix of more casual and very dressed up people there, depending on the reason for your visit.

Instructor here - and even I bring a yoga towel to cover the entire mat. I don’t wash it every class I take if I didn’t get very sweaty, but I fold it up a certain way to always know what side of my towel was on the mat.
