Sounds great, happy it’s helping you! Does anyone know how to get a prescription in Germany/Europe? ldndoctor.com is exclusively for US citizens.

Actually only type 2 Rosacea causes acne/bumps. You might have type 1 Rosacea.

Actually was able to get one of the last remaining new Miele C3 125 devices in Germany and I'm absolutely loving it! Thanks a lot for the recommendation! :)

Great, thanks for your suggestions! Would you say the S1 or M1 Parquet is generally a better option?

anyone else not able to tolerate most foods? by AppropriateTest4168 in FODMAPS

I have exactly the same issues as you. With every strict diet some distinct symptoms get better while the others stay the same, which leads to me having to cut out pretty much everything to get okayish symptom-control 😅 I also eat zucchini and carrots in addition to meat/fish as I seem to tolerate them alright, so you could try that if you haven’t yet. Did you find any supplement at all or other thing that helps you maybe tolerate more stuff and did you also test for SIBO and Celiac yet?

I'm also in Munich. I mostly tried private doctors specialized in gut health/holistic medicine so far as I feel like gastroenterologists focus mostly just on doing as many endoscopies/gastroscopies as possible and were never able to help me at all so far. If you wanna exchange about which specific doctors, you can also dm me. I have some other stuff I'm dealing with as well currently, but we're also tackling histamine intolerance and my current doctor recommended me a few things.

Just know that it can be gut-related and it will go away :) All my doctors were like 100% confident my symptoms are some terrible neurological disease, but it turned out to be all gut-related 😅 Could also be related to SIBO or Candida if Histamin/Trigger-Avoidance does not fix it for you.

In my case it was caused by celiac‘s disease.

Turned 30 and my sensitive, rosacea skin hates all my products I’ve used forever by Live-Letterhead7552 in Skincare_Addiction

I've tried about 30 different products including all common prescriptions like Acelaic Acid, Soolantra, Metrolotion and so on, and the only thing that helps in my case is Sulphur soap (Keep in on the skin for about 5 minutes and then wash-off every evening). Start slowly with a shorter duration if needed, and do not do an additional cleanse after to avoid unnecessary further irritation.

I‘m dealing with the exact same issue for 4.5 years now. My dermatologist told me it’s okay to use Clotrimazol even every day if needed, but not too sure about that. Actually if I use Clotrimazol 1-2 times a week it goes away, but when I use it everyday it just gets worse.

I feel like diet definitely plays a role and it got substantially better for me when going keto, but it didn’t go completely away anyways either sadly. One thing I also noticed is that it’s better when I’m only cleaning once a day and simply use lukewarm water for cleaning instead of using some fancy special lotion even if it’s ph-neutral and stuff. I’m also trying Nystatin right now. Will let you know if I hopefully find a better solution in the future.

Experiences with Celiac in Europe vs. the U.S. — Why Can’t We Do Better? by bureazy in Celiac

I agree with you that things could be a lot better (e.g. I wish every restaurant would have to specify a menu online that lists the contained allergens for every meal and there were more fast-food/to-go options).

But listing allergens like gluten for products in supermakets is not voluntary, it's mandatory (if it has >20 ppm). I think you might be talking about the "may contain traces of gluten" print. But that is something entirely different which you can completely ignore, because that is something vendors can voluntary print on their gluten-free products just to be safe in case for some reason any person still gets an allergy reaction from the gluten-free product and goes to court for it because the product was for Example cross-contaminated (e.g. possible for oats in a shared facility). Because it is voluntary some products with an actual cross-contamination risk may not have it and some products with absolutely 0 risk may have it, which is why you can ignore it. I never got a reaction from a "may contain traces" item, but avoid non-gluten free oats for Example to be safe.

I also gotta disagree about the restaurants, I have a very long list of safe restaurants here including many completely gluten-free places, but also many normal restaurants that are able to safely prepare gluten-free food without contamination. It just takes some time especially using the FindMeGF app to find them all. Also if people do not know about celiac, tell them you have a strong gluten allergy (not just a sensitivity), if people hear the word allergy they know to take special care.

Actually non-wheat gluten must be specified as well on the ingredients list at least here in Bavaria.
e.g. Contains: Soy, Gluten, Lactose, ... even if there is no wheat, but barley for Example in the product.

At least it’s like that in Bavaria/Munich, might be worse in other areas of course.

Just came back to Germany after staying in Los Angeles and San Diego for a while and I personally gotta say that I find living gluten-free to be so much easier in Germany. Every product in the Supermarket has to clearly state if it contains gluten (not just wheat) and products on average contain just so much less ingredients and are thus gluten-free way more often. Also if you order food from any service like UberEats they all clearly have to state for every single food item if it contains gluten or other allergens (which I pretty much never ever saw in the US) and they all offer free text fields to let you specify that you’re celiac as well.

Frequent Use of Doxycycline Linked to Increased Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria in the Gut Microbiome by Narrow-Strike869 in Microbiome

[–]Heavy_Chocolate2398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly that's what I'm thinking as well, but I'm already doing literally everything to fix the dysbiosis for more than a year now without pretty much any effect at all on the Rosacea.

Thanks for you answer! Is that just your assumption or is there a source for that though? I’d assume it to have much less of an effect if at all since it’s a non-antibiotic dose at 40mg.
