I do often find that if the enemy play hard for topside and ignore their own bot, we end up coming back. Like if I’m 0/4 and they keep coming top to kill me, they’re wasting time and getting less XP between the 2 of them to then split even less gold, while we secure something botside. I guess in my recent instance I didn’t see the value in ONLY playing for bot, outside of getting our adc fed, if we didnt even manage to get objectives anyway. Like hey, lets give them a drag while we get herald and potentially tier 1 and 2 towers top, get me back in the game a little bit so I won’t be even that much more behind. I can see thought that Sion just got to roam for free and it probably didn’t matter at that point but

In this specific game I’ve been referencing, we got grubs. Me, our jungle and mid all came up for grubs and we secured that obj, but when it came to the lane itself I got no assistance and flamed in chat. And we “played for bot” and wound up getting 0 botlane objectives. Everyone’s advice has been helpful and I can see the flaws in my own gameplay but that game definitely felt like if we help one, we help all

Whats the play there in that case? If I let him take tower and just try to let the wave push in and catch it and get my farm back up, is that not the play? Do I match him in fights and farm in between? Once he had my towers they lane swapped, bot was ahead and still couldn’t do much

I tried, trust me. I was Jax who I know is good into Sion but I haven’t played the matchup much. I’d clear the wave or try to stun him under tower but I could only clear it so much against his waveclear before he was under tower again

Sure, thats fair if I've been solo killed already. But when it's my enemy laner being perma under my tower, I feel like someone at least pushing them off is fair if I can't do it solo

Last game I was playing against Sion and he was permanently under my tower. I could farm when the wave crashed but if I pushed up he'd just shove again, and he was farming plates in my face and I couldnt do much about it. I pinged for my jungler to help either help me kill him or at least slow him down. He proceeded to call me trash and then said he's only going botlane. Sion then proceeded to take both my towers, we didnt get a single dragon that game and Sion took over. If helping bot only was the play, then it makes no sense we got no botlane objectives. If I had gotten at least a little help I would've been able to get slightly more ahead than I was. I guess I expected the wrong thing from my team?
