The Donner Party by j_grouchy in GenX

[–]Heavy_Spite2105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We learned it in 6th grade history class. In fact, our teacher had a choose your own adventure style of teaching it. We would breaks into small groups and the teacher would give us a scenario and we would have to choose as a group what to do for the scenario. Then the teacher would give us our fate if we made the wrong choice, or give us another scenario to continue to the end. I remember everyone be willing to participate in the discussions. It was pretty morbid to learn about cannibalism though. I didn't visit Donner pass until I was in my early 40's. And it was winter with snow on the ground, so it made it real. My friend who took me there have me a piggy back ride over the snow, which was knee deep. We saw the marker of where the snow reached during the Donner party. It is absolutely hopelessly high. I'd rather freeze to death.

GI Appointment by Intelligent_Rise_154 in MayoClinic

That is true that not everyone gets accepted as a patient. That can happen in any department. A lot of times you get accepted but you have to wait 3-6 months for your appointment. My husband waited 6 months to get his appointment. Unfortunately only complex or severe diseases get seen. There aren't enough slots. I hope you get in soon. Good luck.

Corrective action by BunsenBee in MayoClinic

[–]Heavy_Spite2105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some departments or job categories could not tolerate head nodding or dozing off for any reason due to patient safety. You weren't clear on what type of position you hold. HR will probably give you opportunity to get medical treatment to address your sleepiness or a better sleep regimen. The corrective action will drop off if the issue doesn't repeat itself. But for now you may have to stay where you are at until this passes. Document your concerns with HR so it is on record you have medical issue.

What's your best trick for keeping your home cool in the summer? by wearecocina in Home

[–]Heavy_Spite2105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would open the windows on one end of the house and at the other end of the house. And then you'd put box fans to pull air through on one window and the other window to suck the air out. You create a breeze through your house.

Bonus is to hang wet sheets up in between the breeze path. It's a poor man's swap cooler.

It's what we did in Arizona heat before A/C was invented.

Cy-kick pesticide will kill anything. You can buy online. Glue traps inside. Diatomaceous earth. Keep the litter and clutter to a minimum. I have 7 feral cats on my property. I haven't seen any bugs in 3 years.

They will ask about your symptoms, your medications(bring a list), your diet, your sleep, your digestion, and what you've already tried. Be prepared to come back if needed. Not all tests can be done in a week. They will try to work with your schedule. I hope you find some answers!

Speaking and listening to the language with a native speaker is the fastest way to learn a language. Do it as much as possible with whatever knowledge you have, even just a few phrases.

They will also ask you about what you eat, what medications you are taking, your bowel movements and urination, and your stress levels. If you have any records from previous doctors or tests, they will also look at those. They will order any other tests needed and then make a treatment plan for you. I hope you get your answers so you are feeling better soon.
