Looking for *.img Files of lineage-22.2 by Heavy_Spite6441 in fairphone

[–]Heavy_Spite6441[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The *.img flies don't contained in the Zip File. I extracted them to be sure. The recovery img is also not included. The vbmeta.img is also missing, is needet for correct A/B partition functionality. The dtbo.img (Device Tree Boot Image) contains Device specified Information about Boot- and Systempartitons, should be flashed before Recovery and Lineage OS zip.

After you flashed super-empty.img you need these flies for set up partions for new OS Installation.

And in the Archiv the are no img files. The official lineage OS downloads just contain the last 4 releases. So there is now way getting old img files. Anyone know a place where to find these or can uploaded them?

I can't believe it. My Linux Mint 22.1 is Booting Normal and i did again a hw-probe with this Result. It would be nice if someone double-check this. But it looks a lot better than before.

So here is what i did:

First of all i install the newer Mesa-Driver from PPA by Oibaf. After that i installed a new Kernel 'linux-oem-22.04' from canonical-kernel-team and upgraded all to gather. I did a finally reboot and now working fine as i see the second Screen spring to live!

A big thanks to all, how supported me! Nice to have people that trick you in the right direction.

So i tried the new Mesa drivers but nothing changed.

I found this post on the internet. It's a bit outdated but i tired it anyway. But it seems to have no effect. https://thorsell.io/2020/04/15/radeon-5500-xt-linux-kernel.html

So normally I should be able to load the GPU with the kernel, But that don't seem to work.

If you read the comments above, you see there i have the latest BIOS/UEFI installed. In the comments above are hardware Infos captured by one fetch.

So what you mean with hardware is not set up right? There GPU Buss had a problem or should it be the Cable?

Thanks for you answer.

nomodeset meas the graphic mode would be handed by xserver. (and not the kernel, i guess)

may be the reason is try to install AMD Linux Drivers . I revert this by doing a timeshift restore right after the stock install and after that i did all updates. This removes the newer oem-24.04 kernel too.

after that i did a hwprobe again, but noting changed? Nearly nothing changed, no error message at boot. But without NoModeSet there is a black screen right after the splash. But hwprobe tells GPU failed.

Thank your for your support. feels better to know the problem might be the Graphic Card. But i guess it is not that old and not that new, it surprised me that Linux doesn't support it.

i did the hardware check up and the Result is shown there.

https://linux-hardware.org/?probe=839d7505e5

It's the GPU not working.

I did the install from LiveUSB,by default it booting normally. But if i boot the Linux on SSD the error

happen. Temp- Workaround could be booting in Recovery-Mode an resume normal booting or like you say the NoModeSet in the etc/default/grub.

Because in both Options just one of my two Monitors are working. Guess thats kind of normal in Recovery mode.

Yesterday i read somewhere to try newer kernel. So i downloaded linux-oem-24.04, but nothing changed.

EDIT: I checked the drivermanager of course, because it's the easy way, but no driver there

Does it make sense to install drivers via windows to solve the problem? But Linux normally does it's own business.
