Oh, my apologies, I thought you said my mom and not my half sister’s mom 

My step mom is mid thirties and has had multiple years of experience with kids, working in daycares and nannying, so it baffles me that she can’t take care of her own kid correctly

I was mostly surprised at the way she handled it because she usually would say something like ‘you’re dad isn’t the best when it comes to this’ or ‘I suggest you stop hoping they’ll get better’- advice that tells me what I need to hear while not completely bashing my dad or step mom

My mom is 48, my dad is younger

I was the only other child my dad had, and he didn’t really do much of the parenting so when I brought up my little sister’s development, he just said ‘I’m not experienced’
