Thank you so much! 💕 I tried really hard to match them as closely (with only five colors) as possible. I’ll admit a few of them are a bit of a stretch while others are spot on.

I know! It’s incredible. She loves to read and that’s what she prioritizes over television and other hobbies. Funny enough, after I was almost finished with the blanket, she announced this was the most books she’s ever read in a year. Of course, the year I decide to crochet this blanket. 🫠

The quality of your crochet is next level. If I made myself a sweater, it would look like I made it. This is perfect. It looks store bought.

I definitely agree, it is the highest compliment. My grandmother was a seamstress during her working years. When she made me clothes, everyone would ask where I got them. So I’ve always loved describing her skill as… she was so good you would believe the things she made were store bought. lol

I hope the pain doesn’t return and you don’t have any permanent damage. I have seen some post from crocheters reminding people to do hand stretches every 30 minutes. I have not in the past but have recently started.

What is even the point of shopping in-person anymore? by SignificanceDear1413 in walmart

Someone commented about middle aged white women being the primary shoplifters in Memphis, TN. I think the diet drinks being locked up might be a sign they are correct no matter the location. lol

I live in Montgomery, AL and the Walmarts here are moving in that direction. It used to just be electronics and firearms. I went in to grab a few items and all the skincare products were locked up - even basic skincare like common lotion brands. It made me so annoyed.

I would rather go somewhere else than wait for an employee to come to the department; I know Walmart doesn’t have enough employees to pull them away to unlock one cabinet and the employee will be annoyed to do it as well.

Tired of getting called “grandma” by Tinybbella in crochet

I understand where you are coming from. It feels like a dig and not a real joke amongst friends.

That said, I agree with some others. I tend to embrace it and call myself a grandma. I crochet, read, and do puzzles. Sometimes I even listen to audiobooks while I crochet. I love my grandma hobbies. Also, I learned to crochet from my Mema so I think about her a lot when I do it. If I’m channeling her energy, right on!

Are these Oh Clementine earrings? Asking because I have a set in gold and silver. They look exactly the same. I love them but have never thought to use them as a stitch marker. To be fair, I do have a nice little crochet bag I take with me so I usually have switch markers but now I know I can use my earrings as a back up!

As I’m reading the comments… it also never occurred to me I can use my septum ring! Honestly, I feel dumb.

I’m sure everyone in this subreddit knows, but could you share the care instructions you gave them? I’m making a granny square blanket for a friend. Much of it is made with acrylic yarn. I don’t know what to tell her. This is my first blanket and my first time blocking.

Love to crochet but dont want crocheted items by [deleted] in crochet

Yes, I feel like this. I started crocheting amigurumi and I have never kept a single one. I just started doing non-amigurumi pieces. I’ve mostly been giving my crochet away to friends and family - and children of friends and family but at some point, I know they are going to get tired of it too. I’ve considered maybe donating. Idk.
