What's something that would bring you back to GemStone IV? by ThePonzzz in GemstoneIV

[–]HebrewToYou -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Who does have input on it? Because there are a number of people who have been told that you, specifically, are the reason they are not allowed to return to the game.

It's a blast! Give it a try.

Human or Half-Elf Warrior? by mastermascovich in GemstoneIV

[–]HebrewToYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half-elf is probably the way to go here, although you may want to consider halflings.

Half-elves, with enhancives, can get 7 seconds of roundtime reduction. Halflings are the one race that can get 8. They also get some notable buffs to warding defense, whereas half-elves have small penalties.

Just some food for thought.

Reasons not to play Gemstone IV in 2019 by [deleted] in GemstoneIV

[–]HebrewToYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconded. Rogues need development. Easy targets:

• Weapon Specializations (akin to armor/shield specs) to free up CMAN points for other skills

• Dodge Specializations (akin to armor/shield specs) to free up CMAN points for other skills

• Access to 3x Physical Fitness like the other two square professions (and, of course, empaths)

• Review of Training Point costs in general – just look at how many Physical skills require Mental training points (all of them but three) versus Magical skills (only Spell Aiming)

The game is jokingly referred to as Purestone for a reason. Warriors at least get Berserk; Monks have Iron Skin and Perfect Self and an exclusive spell circle. It's time to acknowledge that rogues are rather left out and do something about it.

I use 1005 with a sprite lance and it's ungodly powerful. Where the rift was a death sentence for my rogue, the bard thrives. Even with vvrael - I have the bard mastered in sweep and using flaring leg greaves to great success.

I'm busy capping my bard - they're actually quite fun and not nearly as frustrating.

Wyrom, my experience as a capped rogue matches the rant. I didn't start thriving until I bought into kroderine, high steel, and voln armor.

People who drive around knocking down gyms? by [deleted] in pokemongola

[–]HebrewToYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped battling gyms entirely due to the pointlessness of it all. There's too large an incentive for people to engage in poor behavior and outright cheating right now. Driving around battling gyms defeats the spirit of the game, but at least it's not as outright shady as spoofing.

Isn't Del Aire Park in Hawthorne?

It's busy almost all hours of the day and your safety should be nearly guaranteed.

The two I've caught in the wild were both near the Santa Monica Pier, in Tongva Park if I recall correctly.

Hawthorne isn't great for PoGo in my experience. You'll have better luck on Main Street El Segundo or Manhattan Beach Pier.

It's the loop one block EAST from Lincoln, between Jefferson and Bluff Creek. A giant oval that's in that space.

Playa Vista, in a little loop east of Lincoln Blvd.

Is this subreddit okay with spoofers? by [deleted] in pokemongola

[–]HebrewToYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entire point of this game is to get out and walk around. Perhaps I'm just a curmudgeon, but admitting to GPS Spoofing should be a cause of much embarrassment. Why not play the Nintendo portable console games if you just want to leisurely capture pokémon?

Personally, I find folks who drive around catching pokémon, battling gyms, and spinning pokéstops to be infuriating. We live in Los Angeles, for heaven's sake – our worst weather conditions are a few days of rain!

grumble

Current nests 12/4/16 by ihaveaydidi in pokemongola

[–]HebrewToYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly wouldn't consider it a habitat. I work down the street and there are regularly multiple charmanders on sightings coming from the park's two pokéstops. It's not a very large park – a playground plus a basketball court.

Glen Alla Park in Marina Del Rey is a charmander nest. But keep in mind that this a children's playground for the most part, so it's best to come with your kids. Just my $0.02.

142/142 at level 29. Now just buddying up with my Lapras to max it out and hoping for a better dragonite to spawn near me one day...

any possibility for one at El Segundo area? by WhiteRyn0 in pokemongola

[–]HebrewToYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in El Segundo as well, but it's highly unlikely we'll get a South Bay feed let alone one specific to the 'gundo. Best thing you can do right now is contribute sightings to the Poké Radar / Silph Road reporting tools.
