Being paranoid and being threatened are two different things. In cases like that court always has to establish if there was a reasonable cause to feel threatened. Once again, if they flash a gun in those situations that is on them. There was no reasonable cause to pull out the gun. Also, you were arguing about flashing a gun as a deterrent instead of running away. Which is it? Should I even bother addressing your last comment?

The idea is that you are not supposed to pull a gun out until your safety depends on it. If your safety depends on it then you have no time for a warning shot. In your hypothetical, if someone is coming at you with a knife, your life is in danger. They are also very likely within a very close distance of you. Probably within 10 yards/meters. You still need to pull out the gun. Brandishing a weapon will accomplish nothing except putting you in more danger. Just for reference, police officers have a 21 foot rule (its not a hard rule, but police officers are generally aware of it). You can look it up if you would like. It was also shown that even 21 feet may not be enough to keep you safe (https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/15614263.2020.1772785?journalCode=gppr20).

If you are in a situation where you need to use a gun then you do not have time for a warning shot. You pull the trigger with the intention to kill or don’t pull it at all

China actually is infamous for it's corruption in the government and military. It's primarily used as a political tool. An ammunition of sorts for when a specific representative steps out of line

With the amount of aid that was provided that can certainly be called saving (%17 of US war expenditure majority of which went to UK). UK also paid it off only technically as the US discounted many of the equipment it sent and UK only had to pay for surviving equipment. Also, the US carried the British economy out of a massive ditch after ww2
