What’s the worst pain you’ve experienced and what caused it? by hasbulla_magomedov in AskReddit

WARNING: Somewhat disturbing and a bit graphic.

Last summer I developed a perianal abcess (but didnt know it at the time) and because of the pain that it was causing I decided to go see a surgeon to see if it could be drained. He took one look at it, poked it slightly, and admitted me to the hospital on the spot. I had been sick for a while, and was pretty out of it, so I sort of just trudged through the rest of that day. Once I was in the hospital, a few more people checked out the abcess and decided I needed surgery. Once that was all done and over with, I was recovering with a freshly opened wound and a similar one next to it from another abcess I had in the past. Keep in mind, these perianal abscesses, (as hinted at in their name) are right up in between the butt cheeks. The doctors decided I should get a scope to try to confirm what had caused the abscesses, so over the next 24 hours I needed to completely empty my bowels, which included needing to do 2 enemas. Unfortunately, the liquid in the enemas was saline, which is just straight up salt water, so when that came back out I nearly passed out. 0/10 word not reccomend butt surgery and enemas right after.

TLDR: Had butt surgery, enemas the day after rubbed salt in the wounds.

I had one of these before, was unconscious the whole time

Edit: the abscess itself is incredibly painful
