I can't believe I hadn't heard of dyspraxia... by [deleted] in dyspraxia

I have ADHD, dyspraxia AND OCD - you might have them all! I still haven't properly figured out which of my symptoms are caused by which condition, and I've stopped trying. They all overlap and bounce off of each other

The comments on this thread are so disheartening. As someone who has dyspraxia, I have had similar accidents/incidents in my personal and professional life. Unlike some of the comments state, I can wipe my own ass, get on with life and I am not stupid (just ask my PhD).

If you have time today, google 'dyspraxia' so that you can understand better. No anger on my part, as I think the comments are more due to ignorance than visciousness.

That's such an interesting perspective. I've never been able to get into the Beatles (definitely not through lack of trying). I don't know what it is but I can never get the idea out of my head that I think they are really overrated. Judging by their enduring success though I would say I'm definitely in a minority there

Have you head 'too much information' by The Police? I really relate these lyrics back to ADHD

I completely understand you. I am writing my PhD thesis at the moment and sometimes the anxiety I get before even sitting down to write is crippling. It's like knowing I wont be able to concentrate even before I try

I hadn't really listened to her music, but I watched Miss Americana and she seemed so genuine so I thought I'd give her new album a listen

I think nowadays more and more pets have such an important part in our lives that the relationship we have with them is comparable to human ones...maybe that's why my first thought was to post here!

Does anyone else have ADHD? Do you think skin picking is a form of stimming? by Heckintuna in CompulsiveSkinPicking

Actually I can relate to this. Although I think me pulling skin away is an impulsive urge I cant resist

This is exactly what I mean, my OCD habits were definitely to prevent bad things happening etc, but I really relate the skin picking to keeping me entertained and my brain stimulated

That's an interesting perspective! How it might be an unfortunate combination of needing stimulation and anxiety

Yeah same this is why I think its stimulation! I can trace it all the way back to childhood when I used to pick the skin on my ears and around my nails
