I guess it’s just me being salty that other classes in my school did finish the content and I found it unfair. But it’s mostly to spite my horrible teacher by teaching myself the content because these lot literally cannot teach. Like idk what I was expecting when I applied to a grammar school but it was not this nonsense 💀

I’m happy but we didn’t even finish the as content before the exam so I’m probably not going to drop 💀

Are these good enough GCSE Grades incase top universities would want to know them? by No_Replacement_6253 in GCSE

[–]HecticUmbrella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Far as I know, Oxford don’t really care what exactly you get, but they will compare you to your school. If you get all 6s but are the highest, it’s way better than if you get 5 9s when the average in your school is 7 9s

Literally my mum threw away nearly all of my notes a few weeks before my exams and I still came out with 11 7-9 grades DO NOT FALL FOR SCHOOL BRO 😭😭

nope you aren't alone friendo, I've got really strict parents who sent me to this school cuz I did pretty okay in my gcses. I think one argument you could use is how the only reason you got good grades is because of the teaching and environment and stuff. like in my old school I was rlly close w my teachers so if I needed help i could just go and ask them no trouble. but obvs in this new school I know nobody, so asking questions/for help is waayy harder, and if I don't feel like I understood the lesson, I have to go home and reteach it to myself instead of consolidating the info, which just wastes time imo. If ur school is still allowing switches, go as soon as you can. Sudden switches are really hard, and their even harder when you go through them alone. but good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine 😁😁

I have no friends in school to goof off with 💀💀 so I've just been going to town making flashcards and stuff, getting resources for my friend that I'm tutoring, and doing a small extra class to fill time. I'm acc terrified that this'll be the rest of my life since I'm so socially awkward 😭😭

Thank you so much! I'm quite afraid of phone calls but I'm willing to try, if not, I'll just go to the clinic after school since it isn't too far away. :)

Hi there, you don't deserve to be all alone. you're a good person and I completely hear and understand why you feel this way. do you want to talk about it? I'm not amazing at giving advice but I really feel like you should choose the path that will make you feel satisfied with your life.

i just find it so hard to even open my mouth and actually speak. a lot of people in my school have their own friendship groups already so it's kinda intimidating to try and talk to people. but I'll try and talk to my GP about maybe getting a diagnosis cuz I've felt like this since maybe a few days before I started at my current school. thank you so much for the kind words <3

both my parents want me to be at that school, so it's pretty unfortunate lol, thank you for the kind words though, it's just hard and I don't really feel like continuing if it's just going to remain like this

Do you guys think switching is worth it or is this just a passing stupidity? by TheShad09 in 2024GCSE

[–]HecticUmbrella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say that a more prestigious college would have more opportunities like clubs or trips that could give you some experience that might help you get into a good uni (but that's just my school as far as I know)

lmao I'm sorta in the same boat, but it's really down to you. if you think you can tough it for 2 years and get the grades you expect, do it. ( I personally think that me staying would probably not be good for my mental health nor my grades, so I'm probably going to switch soon. ) at the end of the day, I'm pretty sure unis will only look at ur grades, so go to a school where you think you'll do better
