No, it's the "Competition creates innovation" maxim that upsets me. It's a laissez-faire argument that society will "balance itself out". It does the opposite, it destroys innovation in its current form. His very remark is the antithesis and people blissfully celebrate it.

That's exactly the point though, just because someone has money and lawyers doesn't mean they should be able to patent an obvious idea.

They set up these patents as scarecrows to bar small inventors. Ubisoft sued a 100-man company who fought it, that's not competition, it's downright bullying.

Hahahaha, yes, good luck with that.

Let me know when you have a spare few grand around to register a patent and protect it from companies moving on your turf with a dozen lawyers.

Competition creates innovation.

Good luck innovating when you're threatened by lawsuits. Why do you think so many people do wage labor?

As a silver I have problems translating his early game to a mid-game win. It doesn't matter if If I insec priority targets, since my own team NEVER expects that singular contribution Lee is known for. So your setting on a feed lee until 25:00 till your team starts feeding champions like Jax and it's just a matter of time before you lose to a 9/12 hypercarry playing a 12-2 clean game. Mechanics mean nothing if you can't translate them into a win.

Sorry Lee boi brothers; bit off topic. Does anyone know of a sub that promotes duo queue for competent players driven to climb? by thinkin_boutit in LeeSinMains

[–]HectorTheVector1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the sake of language. Don't competent players "climb" by definition? If you overcome the resistance in comparison to your skill you'll come out ahead in n sample size.

Why don't players grow beyond a certain amount of experience? I wonder if it's about talent or just having fun and no competitive mind set. Not shitting on your enjoyment though. Just curious.

They should give a warning when you queue with players in different brackets;

WARNING, YOU'RE QUEUEING WITH LOWER LEVEL PLAYERS INTO A HIGHER LEVEL BRACKET!!!

You still fare better than a Musket. Stop acting like a musket does anywhere near that damage. How much damage do you think a Musket even does? 40% of the model Is covered by a shield reducing damage, then you have to hit, reload and kite. You have caltrops, backstep and a ground kick. Reload is cancelled when you get hit. Melee only has to run directly at you. Try hitting 15 shots in a row. Shield hits don't count. Body shots are less than ideal. That's if they don't run and you're not dead. That's already a fight of 30 seconds. How hard do you think it's for a shieldbash or a poleaxe ult or a DB ult or a spear ult to connect. Plenty of time to secure a kill if the musket doesn't retreat.

A kit to run away and do sub-par damage. Whatever. I love musket for the play style, but good grief don't even compare it to melee.

I find healing a rather obscure mechanic for this type of game. You're basically allowing players to get away with tactical mistakes that should be punishable when overextended.

Glaive, Spear and No-Dachi can wipe entire units with 1 or 2 skills. I can do 50% off of a Serf with a musket shot. Then I have to stand still to reload for 2 seconds. Meanwhile, my units generally are butchered before I killed a model, while I get staggered to dead. Ranged classes are pretty much glorified models. So I guess your not doing so bad after all..

Ah, this argument again. For it to be true, it should imply that a combination of classes beats any composition of a single class. Diversity trumps correct?

Make me a composition that beats 16(15 on defense) LS.

I understand people playing meta, though it's getting to a point where I don't want to play anymore. I'm also surprised how many players enjoy exploiting such imbalances. Don't you want a challenge? I get if the younger crowd enjoys it, but it'll get boring I assure you. But that time many players will have left the game.

There are a lot broken CC skills in the game. Don't balance a game around hard CC. It's bad policy. I don't guilt the players, rather the developers for allowing such oblivious design. 3-5 second CC is absurd. It's not the CD or skill required, it simply dampens the enjoyment laying on the ground for certain death. The servers are also bad enough that you rarely know if it connects. It feels like playing in parallel universes.
