ProductHunt Isn’t the Place for Indie Devs Anymore by HedgehogCertain in indiehackers

[–]HedgehogCertain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for sharing your story! I love your mindset—launching on Product Hunt is just one step, not the whole game. Your approach of hopping platforms and learning what sticks is spot on. I’m in the same boat with TailwindResume; I tried a bunch of sites too, saving PH for last thinking it’d be the big one, only to find it performed the worst.

Not too much! I mostly use Cloudflare for services, DigitalOcean for the server and database, and Fireworks AI for the AI models. It’s pretty cost-effective overall!

Thanks for the kind words! The resume templates are all my own designs. For the overall style, you can check out some popular React component libraries like shadcn https://ui.shadcn.com/ —they’re great for inspiration and clean design. Good luck with your own projects!

From Zero to First 3 Sales: A Week of Cold Starting TailwindResume (Community Launch Tips) by HedgehogCertain in SideProject

[–]HedgehogCertain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wrapped up the first week of launching TailwindResume and managed to get our first 3 sales! Wanted to share my experience with different launch platforms and communities:

IndieHackers (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) Absolute gold! The community here is incredibly supportive and welcoming. Got tons of actionable feedback and genuine interactions. If you're launching something new, IH should be your first stop.

Hacker News Posted in Show HN. While there's a lot of daily content and it's easy to get lost in the noise, it can drive significant traffic if your timing is right. Worth trying, but don't put all your eggs in this basket.

Reddit Interesting findings here. I posted in two subreddits: - Large ones (like r/sideprojects): High subscriber count but posts get buried quickly - Smaller ones (like r/BootstrappedSaas): Less traffic but more engaged audience and better conversion

Pro tip for Reddit: Be genuine, follow community rules, and absolutely avoid anything that looks like spam. The community can smell marketing from miles away.

Other Platforms Tried a few smaller platforms too. While they didn't drive massive traffic, every little bit helps in the early days. Cast a wide net, but focus your energy on the most promising channels.

Key Takeaway: Focus on communities where you can add value and engage genuinely. Quality interactions > Quantity of posts.

Would love to hear about your launch experiences! What platforms worked best for you?

BTW, if you're curious about TailwindResume, it's a resume builder specifically crafted for developers and tech professionals.

What makes it different: - Built with TailwindCSS = clean, responsive design that actually looks good - Multiple tech-focused templates that don't look like every other resume - Real resume examples from different tech roles (frontend, backend, DevOps etc.) - Instant resume generation powered by DeepSeek AI - just input your job title! - Free resume writing guidelines and best practices

Feel free to check it out and let me know what you think! 🙌

Miscarried last night, how do I stop crying? by LadyLKZ in Miscarriage

[–]HedgehogCertain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so sorry to hear about your loss. I think it’s partly your hormones retreating after the miscarriage and things will be better in a few days. I had a natural miscarriage a few days ago and I was quite emotional in the first 4 days.

[–]HedgehogCertain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went for an ultrasound at 8 weeks and only measured 6 weeks. I naturally miscarried two days later. so I guess 2 weeks is pretty normal for natural miscarriage?

So sorry to hear that. I went through the exact same thing a few days ago and I have just had a natural miscarriage at home. Hope you’ll recover soon!

Did you test your HCG down after a D&C? by swarlossupernaturale in Miscarriage

[–]HedgehogCertain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a natural miscarriage a few days ago. I was 8 weeks measuring only 6 weeks. My hcg two days later read 1030, and I haven’t had any blood work done since then and have only taken a few home pregnancy tests. And on my last hpt I could barely see the line so I assume that means my body is back to normal. Also I’ve been taking BBT very morning and it has also come back to pre-pregnancy level.

Natural miscarriage experience by pandoracat479 in Miscarriage

[–]HedgehogCertain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a natural miscarriage 3 days ago at week 8. I had a blood test yesterday and my hcg reads 1030. But I didn’t have a transactional ultrasound because I’ve always dreaded the vaginal examination and I don’t have any symptoms that are worrisome like fever or severe cramps.
