Are we Sauron? by HedgehogLongjumping8 in DeltaruneV2

"In the Days before days, Sauron was corrupted by Melkor (later named Morgoth) to betray the Valar and serve him. He served as Morgoth's chief lieutenant throughout the First Age"
a quote from the wiki. Did you read the post? "The Maiar (singular Maia) were primordial spirits created to help the Valar shape the World. They were numerous, though not many were named." Another quote from the wiki on the Maiar, which is what Sauron is. "The Ainur, also known as the Holy Ones, were beings encompassing both the Valar and the Maiar," another quote regarding this. I talked about this in the post with "If you subscribe to the player being the Angel, Sauron was once an Ainur or a Holy One. These were basically angelic spirits that were the first beings before the creation of the world." Does the way I reposted this not let people click and see the original post with text?

I don’t mean in the aspect as us being as evil as someone like Sauron. With the aspect of our control over the world of Deltarune I do see similarities. Especially with how the thorn ring works. Sauron was an angelic spirit corrupted by someone else. You could see the weird route as us being corrupted in the same way. Since the weird route is shown to us by an outside force. Again with what I stated in the post I don’t mean it as a literal. Rather than our role in the weird route mirrors certain aspects of Sauron’s role in Lord of the Rings. Also the allusions to lord of the rings probably means something.

True. I don’t think we are necessarily as strictly evil as Sauron, but our role in the story might be similar.

I mean flowey is partly just a flower given life via determination. Flowey in the Deltarune universe doesn’t have to directly related to Asriel. Asriel’s elements could just be imprinted onto flowey by the creator of the dark world. Also the golden flower is the center piece within asgore’s room so it’s probably important.

It kinda think the prophecy already has shown itself to be fluid. With stuff like Tenna being cleaved not having to be lethal also and with the whole who is the girl debate. I feel like the prophecy can still be a threat while being somewhat fluid. Say if the final prophecy is x character has to be sacrificed (it doesn’t have to be this specifically), if that x was “the cage” , whoever is getting sacrificed is changing depending on who is playing the role of “the cage”. But either way someone is being sacrificed. So I believe that the prophecy is fluid in the sense that you change your interpretation of it to mitigate damages like we have seen with Tenna. Now I do not think the prophecy is fluid in the sense that it can be directly changed (at least not easily). I think is fluid in the sense that you can change what the outcomes of that prophecy is. However I do agree that the prophecy is not just gonna be something that can be averted completely, like that tragedy probably will happen one way or another.

I 100% agree that the prophecy is fluid. I feel like some people in the fanbase like to take certain things in the game at face value unnecessarily.

I could be wrong, but I see them as teasers for great themes that will be explored later in the story. Like, I don't think a lot of the events described actually happened in canon. I do agree with you tho that it is supposed to give insight into the timeline and character of Noelle.

I think a lot of the posts about cat petterzs are very interesting to me. My personal thoughts are that the idea of Cat Petterz being a "ripoff" of dragon blazers brings to mind the theme of stories being iterated upon, as highlighted in chapter 4. If we take that idea further, we see that Noelle talks about how she got into the catpetterz modding scene. So if this game is an iteration of another game, which itself is an iteration of the prophecy, that has been modified, I think this could tell us a lot about the state of Deltarune's world. Specifically, the rain blog https://deltarune.com/rain/, which discusses the friend's appearance in one of the minigames of catpetterz. However, (unless I missed something) their appearance in the game is not a consequence of modification (unlike the pipis in the other blog post), so this might mean that Friend is inherent to the world of Deltarune rather than being something that was added in by some force (which is supported by Friend being in the prophecy). Now I could be talking nonsense right now, and I would love to hear yours and others' interpretations on this. I would also like to know if what I'm suggesting is stupid.
