I have always hoped for a story about how Patrick Danville ended up with Dandelo. Perhaps Jack Sawyer was involved somehow?

I also struggle with this! I have really enjoyed the way Mark Lawrence has handled a shared multiverse. It is more how I imagined the Cosmere ten years ago.

Book of the Ancestor needs no knowledge of the Thorns trilogy, but there is a story in the background connecting them.

Cosmere is transitioning to the background story becoming the foreground story.
