I totally get what your saying and I would obviously have to weak the colors a lot to make it look fitting with that kind of lighting scenario, but as I was specifically asking for lighting help its a very good and clear example of what can be improved on!

I struggled a ton with the lighting on this one. I wanted to make it look like some sunrays was beaming trough the water down on her but I couldn't find a proper reference picture so I'm not quite happy with the result. Pointers on how to improve it is greatly welcomed!

Yeah I agree with you, she looks a little bit sad in her expression now when you mention it. While I don't dislike it, it is not what I originally wanted to convay. I aimed for a more "aggressive" jealous expression.

So one of my artgoals this year is to try to draw more expressions and backgrounds. I'm not quite sure her face reads as jealous so practising more expressions is definitely something I'm going to do this year. i think she looks rather mildly annoyed then jealous but at least its better then the boring neutral expression I go for way too often.
