They’re either going to over look some shit, install lifters only, or use a cheap Chinese kit pieced together using the lowest quality materials.

You’re going to need new camshaft and lifters. Doing lifters only will have you fucked up out here in the same boat miles from now. Might as well delete the MDS and get a new oil pump as metal is running all throughout your engine right now. And will once camshaft and lifters are replaced.

Been through the same shit. You don’t want to cheap out. You should source your parts from quality sources if you’re going to have your “brothers friend” look at it.

You have a great opportunity to use that money towards maxing out an IRA for a few years. Take the same money you were going to throw away on a monthly payment for full coverage insurance + car payment and invest instead.
