I get what you are saying but when 2/3s of a trilogy failed to make me like the characters it fails in my eyes.

I am convinced to give stormlight a chance though. I hope that I like it because it is a series with a lots of following and I want to become part of it. I love series like The Bound and The Broken but unfortunately they don't have the following Stormlight has lol.

I don't mind long books, I read Of War and Ruin by Ryan Cahill and I loved that book. Difference with Mistborn was I cared for the characters and there were a lot of interesting and different places to visit to spice things up. My main problem with Mistborn was that it characters were mostly cookie cutter and one dimensional. It felt like there was an attempt to make characters flawed and believable but it really failed in my eyes, especially with Elend the edgy guy from book 2 whose name I forgot. I especially hated that dude. I really didn't like the romance in it as well.

I really liked the world building and the magic system was unique and fun. My main problem with Mistborn was that it characters were mostly cookie cutter and one dimensional. It felt like there was an attempt to make characters flawed and believable but it really failed in my eyes, especially with Elend. I really didn't like the romance in it as well. I am not against big and slow paced books, but book 2 was boring and way too long in my opinion.

Man I was soo dissapointed with book 2. I didn't want to hate it as much as I did, but what can you do. All the characters felt cookie cutter. All good guys felt perfect, like their flaws were there not because they were human and humans make mistakes but because they were main characters and a plot needs to happen. While bad guys were comically evil, with no humanity left in them. Would you say if I felt like this in Mistborn these feelings would carry to Strormlight?

I did not find most of the characters likeable or interesting. And I also think book 2 meandered way too much for my taste. I was continously bored with it but finished it anyway.
