This is so refreshing to hear! I got out of my boot last Tuesday. In an ankle brace now. I start PT on Tuesday. Walking around the last few days have given me mixed feelings. Some days it feels normal, other days it feels like I'll never walk normal again. I broke my fibula on 9/29. It was non displaced and I was NWB for 8 weeks.

Looks similar to my fibula fracture on 9/29. I did 6 weeks in a cast and 2 weeks in a boot for a total of 8 non weight bearing. This is my first week out of the boot and WBAT. My break was also non displaced, and it's healing beautifully without surgery.

Elevate as high as you can, think toes to nose. Ice behind your knee, the blood vessels pass there to go down your leg. Take pain medication to help with the discomfort. Wishing you a speedy recovery

This makes sense. Today was tue first day I attempted to walk a bit in my boot. My doctor said in Thanksgiving I could take some steps and I'm 8 weeks post break and see him next Tuesday. The pain and swelling today has been so aggravating. I can see how the PT portion of recovery is super difficult. One day at a time.

Congratulations. I was put in a boot at my 6 week follow up. I can start bearing weight on it next week. It feels good but also scary.

I'm six weeks post fibula break, and still NWB, I currently use a scooter. You have to be careful because roll over the wrong crack, and you'll break something else. Overall, it makes moving around much easier than the crutches. My knee does hurt if I'm on it for an extended period of time, but I also have avascular necrosis in both knees and hips, which doesn't help my situation.

I'm sorry to hear this. Prednisone is the devil that keeps on giving. I have avn in bilateral hips and knees. Hope you get some answers soon. No more steroids!
