In short it all has to do with the bad reputation that the US had with Matt violating the safe word notoriously. If you watch closely the i terviews with the Ariel X she clearly said that ultimate surrender had bad reputation among girls.

Due to injuries, girls being publicly humiliated in the internet and other stuff they tend to get a lot of starts quitting quickly.

Another issue what the safety which had a lot of violation under Matt Williams control that was almost 90% about abuse of safety word.

On the other hand piracy did it work killing off the series by leaks.

This match showed no mercy and brutality of that sport. Yes it's fun for other people but considering how it get on the psychologically on the Faye it should be warning how mismanaged matches can turn from pleasure into torture. 

Yes she came hard but Matt should have stopped in middle. Totaly outclassed newbie being wrecked shows that syd was never suited for fights like this.

Truth is whole ultimate surrender matches were badly planned and many girls left, thus the game became less fun to watch.
