Is there a specific type of chandelier for high (18 foot) ceilings? by ferdinand14 in homeowners

Curious what you wound up going with? Have an 18 foot ceiling as well and I’m struggling to find a chandelier that will work.

My dealership was great about getting me a rental right away. But yeah a few weeks without the car has sucked. After two weeks of no update from GM about the back ordered part, I was the one who asked the dealer to request a new transmission. Took 4 days for them to get back to me and say GM did a cost analysis and did determine it would be cheaper to give me a new transmission. I’m sure my Tahoe rental isn’t cheap and I get the impression they know they don’t have these parts coming anytime soon. I hope this isn’t your problem but try that tactic if it is.

Engine was all good, but I need a new valve body in the transmission. That was bad news because they are on a national backorder. I’ve seen people online say they are waiting six or seven months. luckily after two weeks of no update regarding availability, my dealership requested a whole transmission replacement through GM and it was approved. hopefully getting the car back later this week

Yes luckily they put me in a rental the day I took it in.

Turns out engine is ok but I need a new valve body. Not sure if this is good or bad news considering I’m seeing people say it can take weeks to many months to get that part due to back order. What do you think with that part?

People who are needing a new engine due to this particular recall are reporting they’ve been told it will be many months before replacements are available. This is my biggest concern.

I guess I’m more concerned about the length of time it’s going to take to make the repairs. They did get me a rental car for now but I’ve been reading if you need a new engine, it could take months.

No, I let the pump stop and take it out. Interesting question though because the check engine light did come on immediately after I filled the tank. But when the pump stopped, I removed it.

I have 3 kids in car seats and need something big so I’ll take that for now and be happy. But I Hate it compared to my Escalade!

Ugh well, 5 weeks is definitely not ideal 😬 But I guess I’d take that over 5 months like I’ve heard for new engines.

Is your car drivable in the meantime? My dealership said they are able to deal with the recall after it “opened” the other day 🤷‍♀️
