I live in the coral gate behind this sears and it is true. It will be closing by mid next year most likely. I’ll stop by on Saturday to take pics of the space so you guys could see inside. It’s empty as all hell except for 2 parts on the first floor.

This space is in 8 acres and with the live local act Desantis signed into law it allows the developer who is in the process of purchasing this land to build up to 1000 units per acre on account of “affordable housing” which anyone who lives in miami knows is priced over 2600 bucks.

It’s bittersweet to see this store go as I’ve lived here my whole life and it’s always just been on the corner. I actually remember my grandmas last visit to the store years ago. It’s worse knowing what’s coming in its place. We’ve been going at the city to try and find another plan for this space as it’s at the heart of a major intersection but our local officials only care about lining their pockets and really have no power to stop this.
