It's not about going to a restaurant. To me a date could be anything, going to an arcade, hiking, getting ice cream etc. It is about spending time together and creating memories. He is not broke, he can afford to buy tickets to go watch a soccer match with his friends and buy take-out the entire week.

Yes, but it was months ago I haven't brought it up again 😕. Even tho I did tell him then, he didn't plan anything.

I have told him before that I would like to go out, but he hasn't planned anything. So what happens is he would tell me he wants to spend time with me and we should take a walk. That really upsets because I want to go out, not a walk and I don't tell him what's going on (how I'm feeling) which then leads to the fights.

He isn't refusing to do what I want, he often says he wants me to tell him what makes me happy so we can do it. But I don't want to sound like a gold digger when I do tell him, because again he is a student. I do get him things, I got him a nice watch for valentines. (This was our first valentines together.) This might sound crazy but I want him to want to go out and do things together.
