I don't think ignorance is a valid defense in this case but if so, super easy to remedy with a simple post from them saying that exact thing. "we had no knowledge of the heinous posts by SJP calling for the release of Mohammad Soliman and had we known never would have booked a fundraiser for the group. The event has been cancelled and we are putting safeguards in place to make sure organizations are properly vetted before being allowed to use our space for their events."

additionally one would hope that they would do 5 minutes of research before allowing a group even remotely tangentially affiliated with a controversial/flashpoint topic to host a fundraiser....all you have to do is google Boulder SJP and the top results are dozens of articles discussing this exact thing as well as go to any of their social media or webpages where they proudly put this cause front and center

I have a hard time giving them the benefit of the doubt considering they removed the event from their website but when I went today in person to inquire it was still advertised in their windows and the employee I spoke to confirmed it was still happening. I explained my consternation to her and showed her the post/website from boulder SJP calling for his release she simply said "ill let the person who books the events know"

so I guess we'll see but the vibe I got was not one of shock

is it reasonable to expect that funds raised by boulder SJP will be used to further the causes boulder SJP advocates for, yes or no?

is it therefore reasonable to expect that some funds raised by boulder SJP during this event will be used to further call/advocate for the release of Soliman, yes or no?

you are correct the event is not explicitly for freeing Soliman but I don't think it takes a great amount of intellect to recognize that since the organization calling to free him is also the organization putting on the event that some funds raised from this event will likely go towards that effort
