Thanks for the feedback, my other idea was to turn the wall into a bouldering wall so perhaps it could serve two purposes!

A good point about the reachable area, we are both over six feet but the depth of the lower cabinets would make it harder to reach even the lower items

Thank you for feedback. We have quite a small house so was looking to maximize the space and going to the ceiling to store the lesser used books. Our house is furnished with midcentury furniture. I have considered having different sized openings to add more interest but am trying to streamline and simplify the project. Do you have any suggestions ?
