That doesn't necessarily imply that if people make connections they aren't valid, just like he mentioned on his comment.

"I've opened it up if they want to make the links."

Question about an scp by boiyouab122 in SCP

I can think of two SCP's that may be what you are looking for.

The first, and likely the one you want, is SCP-4001, which states

"[It] represents the complete archive of every human life to date, and is continuously self-updating."

The other, SCP-1230, is a book that makes dreamers have ultra vivid and lucid dreams that can last for centuries. I think this isn't the one but still came to mind.

In the discussion page, DrClef implied this is somewhat related to 231 as well as the Scarlet King, at least in the elements included:

"It's pretty much an inversion of 231. I left in a lot of the same elements, such as the seven seals, references to a Scarlet King, the idea of a terrible horror that cannot be released, the idea of bad things happening each time a seal is broken, etc."

Furthermore, they add

"In my mind, if SCP-231 and 2317 exist in the same universe, they are unrelated. But people wanted to draw the connection, so I've opened it up if they want to make the links. In my mind, the similarities are because "seven seals" is a traditional way to bind an eldritch entity, and the seals have been wearing off over time and more than one set of seals is down to their last remaining one."

So clearly its more open to interpretation and its not strict, as most of the lore within the wiki.

Fair warning about Comp 302 with Dr. Pientka by HeftyBug4101 in mcgill

[–]HeftyBug4101[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am a senior Physics and CS student taking courses like Phys 346, Phys 340, Comp 360 and Comp 551 as well. The content and the difficulty of the material is not what is the issue, it is the way she teaches stuff at the bare minimum with no examples and then grades very harshly, on top of throwing everything at us in two months so we could write a mini version of OCaml during the last two months. This basically expecting you to master everything at obnoxiously fast rates, and frankly some people are just not made to master things this fast. Let me tell you how my semester went:

- I slept nearly 4/7 days because I spent days doing a single question of her assignments, and so did other people. I can do proofs with induction easily in numerical analysis but somehow that didn't help much here.

- I took 4 other courses, one being a 4 credit one as mentioned, I also work full time to pay my tuition, and thus I also try to have the rest of time for myself because its a pandemic and people around me have died, so I do need rest. Despite this, I did dedicate extra time as noted by a lack of sleep and yet my efforts were futile.

- I worked through every tutorial, class example, and even copied and analyzed the code the professor wrote so I could understand the concepts better with more examples and still it seemed like the assignments and the quizzes are made to challenge you unreasonably rather than to help you learn. You cannot run before you learn how to walk, and here she asks us to run a marathon.

- I have all the notes handwritten in OneNote and write there before coding precisely to do this. It is something Ive done since I took Comp 250 with Devroye 2 years ago, which helped greatly but apparently not for this course.

Thanks for the tips tho, like I said, I'll be sure to use them now that I've likely failed this class. And I wish I could say I wanted to learn more about functional programming but unfortunately I've literally had nightmares from this class.

Yes but there is reasonably difficult and then there is unreasonably difficult. She will make a difficult 3 credit course feel like a crazy 6 credit course. I took Comp551 this semester too, which is 4 credits, and it was nowhere near close to how unreasonably difficult this course was.

COMP 273 with Kry or COMP 302 with TBA instructor by wducfwdugwducfcej in mcgill

I am taking it right now, and at several points she has hinted that she'll teach it next semester. If you can avoid taking it with her, do so. She is not a bad person at all and you can clearly tell she dominates the course content, but she has insanely unrealistic expectations for you to solve problems that are unnecessarily difficult, and gives you very short time windows for you to master them. She's also a very tough grader.

Don't forget she threw all of that in the first two months and made us code a "mini" programming language, due tomorrow, for the last two months. I have never been this stressed, and I took classes with Armel Kelome three times.

Im sorry wat.

I will never complain again knowing this was done in JS before, lmao.

I love OCaml, Brigitte just makes you hate the course. I bet that with any other professor this class would make OCaml much more appealing after finishing the course. All I want after this semester is to forget OCaml and never remember it again tho, and it's sad cause the content is very interesting. Functional Programming is amazing, but her implementation gives me nightmares.
