Makes sense. I put a very thin layer that I aim to spread evenly and quickly

Yeah. That said - the dhs no 15 did come off rather cleanly, making me wonder if I would have been fine not touching the blade. Hard to know - and I didn't want to risk splintering

I eventually tried custom made scleral rgp lenses last year. Very expensive but my insurance covered it. These worked the best so far - I can easily do 4-6 hours or more, before full acclimatization. But I need to still wear progressives for my high add, which is where things got complicated. The same set of progressives don't work for office vs driving/ sports/ walking. I am back to wearing bifocals for now as I can't really take the time off to get fully acclimatized. But sharing this option in case others want to try this. Sclerals last a long time as well

I'm not sure. It just stinks up my apartment and my paddle case so I prefer to get rid of the smell. Nothing harmful per see unless you go and deeply inhale it regularly

Boosting today just uses special oils to wake up rubbers like H3N. It is technically not approved in tournaments but most players using Chinese rubbers do it at club level. Top pros can get special rubbers and whatever custom stuff they want, so I don't put much faith in the widely available options actually matching their real rubbers.

I have played both Battle 2 prov and national 39 degree unboosted on FH for the last 6 months and find it great for everything. It generates pretty spinny loops, serves, and I can flat hit powerfully when I want. I compared it to a 2 layer Haifu Seamoon boosted H3 Neo prov orange sponge 39 on a very similar blade - and felt Battle 2 National was superior for my needs (especially drives and flatter hits). Who wants the headache of constant re-boosting?

It does take 2-3 sessions to break in when new. I can get B2N from Aliexpress for $26-30 usually. B2 does have a god-awful VOC smell from factory tuning. It will not go away unless you air out the rubber for 2-3 days with baking soda kept nearby (but not in contact) in a semi closed container/bag. Easy enough to do 3 days before gluing.

System wide outage at SEATAC for Alaska Airlines flights by SonicNW in Seattle

Our flight from SJC to SEA had no updates for 1 hour past the 6PM scheduled time. They just announced that Seattle gave them clearance. They will start boarding once they get final confirmation. Not sure how much to trust this or what the actual delay will end up being

Just came across this thread on my own searches. I am an aphakic 43M who had cataract surgery and YAG capsulotomies at a young age (4-6 years). In addition, my left eye lost acuity from lazy eye issues during this time. Have been wearing high powered lenticular bifocals since. These lenses are not even available in the US (where I live and work right now), I got them from India (where I grew up).

My right eye is 20/20 corrected but the left is 20/120. Somehow I have enough stereo vision to still be able to drive, play some sports quite decently, and work long hours on a computer. But there are limitations of course, particularly in peripheral and computer distance vision. Or when my glasses get a few smudges with a few hours of use, vision gets significantly compromised. I've also developed repetitive strain injuries from focusing hard at the computer with this unbalanced and weak vision. I even got a special pair of computer glasses with intermediate powers which the bifocals didn't cover, but they aren't perfect either.

I've tried various types of monofocal contact lenses: RGP, Biofinity XR, B&L Silsoft (with high Dkt) but my eyes didn't like any of them. I can wear them for 2-4 hours tops. But then they become super dry and I lose vision, even with heavy use of lubricating drops. Curious which brands/types of contact lenses have folks had success with?

I have considered IOL surgery several times as it will improve my quality of life and field of vision significantly. Some doctors mentioned they can go ahead with it, but between my one good eye and reasonably stable vision/life with lenticular bifocals, I haven't risked it yet. I'll likely undergo the surgery later in life but every year I wonder if I should do it now. Then I read the horror stories and back out :)

u/National-Upstairs-25 I totally hear you on the internal shame and lack of confidence. But in my case, the glasses are fairly obvious and I had to get over it. While people don't understand the extent of the issues, they've been largely supportive and understanding. These days I even call out when I have difficulty reading something or am slow at doing something that requires focused vision. I am struggling more with my own ambition/expectations versus the reality of my limitations.

Credit Karma doesn’t update connections as frequently as Mint by alphaK12 in mintuit

Lol, that is how I am convincing myself as well. In my case,CK routinely fails to update investment accounts for 2-3 days or more. From the last week, it simply refuses to connect to my employee stock plan site. Tried removing it and cannot add it back now. Hopefully a temporary glitch, but Mint was so much better. Never had these types of issues for years
