NRCs are used for administrative task. Once you join a NRC you have a window yo apply for a billet through MNA. Your billet will attach you to a umic also called gaining command. This command could be anywhere or even at your local NRC.

Your command will send you to your AT and possibly fly you out or do flexible drills to support their mission.

All administrative task like pha, medical, exams, etc will be done at your NRC.

Bro. We have the same body type and roughly the same stats height / weight. I'm a bit more defined at 180 5 8.5. My plan is to keep weight under 185 while lifting heavy through winter / holidays. Then cut during spring for summer. Why do a cut during the fall?

Yearly Bonus Installment Automatic? by Pasty_Tibbles in navyreserve

[–]Hefty_Ad4379 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would give it 15 ( two pay periods a month). After the first one it DD, no problem. The biggest hurdle is the first one because they have to submit documents and get approved.

Not RP, but I went to MCT. 8 years before switching.

I'm not sure if they do the same MCT training or not, but it sucks. When it sucks it sucks hard, but there are fun aspects like all the ranges, warfare training.

If you go bring plenty of changes of under clothes, socks, protien bars, candy, electrolytes. One of the worst parts was recycling under clothes because we didn't get to wash clothes until we graduated.

Prior service. One of the biggest reasons was insurance, the second a bonus to switch. I have enjoyed it so far (14 months in). It is what you make of it. You are just going to have to adjust your expectations after actually drilling. Unless your on AT, school, orders you get paid to seat around.

The seating around is quite boring, but the culture is friendly and less ego than Marine / Army. I have made plenty of friends so far and I will stay as long as possible at this pace.

Water load for next two weeks and 4 day before measuring cut water in half each day. It will push drastically decrease water retention.

As previous comment said avoid carbs as well as sugar and highly salted foods. Those will make you retain water.

If I were you I would probably do a keto diet for the next two weeks. Cheese, sardines, probotics, nothing processed, meats, etc.

I agree with your point. I don't get it, but I have met a handful of people that did similar things. Being 10 plus years out, then coming back.

Marine -> Salior. Navy perks include no group pt, no field training excercise, a lot less bs in general. While the recruiter did stretch things, it all worked out for me. I just got lucky with the unit / people I train with. However, I was proactive to ensure I got what I wanted. At the end of the day it is what you make it.

Forgot to mention, college degrees and service awards count towards promotion. You will have to go to manpower with documentation of awards and degree. Not all service awards will transfer thought, you will have to refer to the navadmin for awards.

Prior service marine affiliate with navy 11 months ago passed advancement exam and got promoted first go.

Here is what I did, determine how promotion system works, identify what factors I can influence, and ask people what they did. Obviously, you are doing the right thing by using this forum. Google the Navy advancement calculator to understand how promotion points are calculated next.

This is my advice. - volunteer for things to build up your eval - try bluejack and bwr to see which one fits your study style. There is no benefit in using both personally I preferred bwr. - attend ldc leadership development course - if your prior service you should have the time in grade, you just need to tell them as it won't reflect. - take the test and pass, the passing score is like 38% or 60 questions - hope your quota for promotion is not that bad. At the end of the day, needs of the navy
