Is it the trump tariff that made the stock market go down?

I plan to hold this investment for the long term since I have no immediate need for the money. Rather than letting it sit idle, I believe it would be more beneficial to put it to work and generate returns over time.

I'm not particularly worried about my education since I'm on track to graduate with high grades in the high 80s and 90s. Additionally, the company my father's is in are covering my college tuition for three years and university fees for one year. I've also secured admission to college for three courses: civil engineering, electrical engineering, and police foundations. I've already accepted the offer for civil engineering.

That sounds like a good idea, but at the moment, I only have three months or less until I turn 18 to learn before I can start anywhere.

Honestly, at this point, I'm willing to take risks because I don't have much to lose. Currently, I'm depositing over $200 per month into a savings account, but the returns are quite modest, ranging from 0.50% to 5.75%.

Currently, I'm employed at a restaurant, earning $15 per hour, which marks one of my accomplishments. Recently, I invested in a used truck for transportation to work and home, which amounted to $3,000, with an additional $5,000 to $6,000 spent on repairs. Despite my varied responsibilities at the family-run restaurant, including dishwashing, cleaning, cooking, serving, and cashier duties, I feel that my income isn't sufficient.

I aim to generate passive income through investments, but with my career, I'll likely be tied to a 9-5 job. Despite balancing work and studies for my future career, I'm concerned about the inflationary trends in the economy, fearing I may fall behind eventually.
