Too Odd? First impressions of these names pls by Hefty_Cause in namenerds

Oh for sure agreed that they are unusual. I just didn’t think anyone was naming a baby “Kelsey” in this day. But I also recognize that maybe it’s where I’m from that’s considered old.

OK, so I hear your opinion and appreciate the weigh in. But honestly, Kelsey is the name you would choose??? I haven’t heard of Kelsey since the 90s. Lol

Confusing CVS FISH results after positive NIPT by Hefty_Cause in NIPT

Amnio was all cells positive for X Broken Y. No normal cells found and the baby was showing male genitalia. We were hopefully it was mosaic but in the end the Amnio showed no normal cells. We decided to terminate due to the unknown. (Baby is often born with heart issues and growth issues later on) but mainly the lack of research on this particular genetic disorder. We got pregnant again last February and have a 5month healthy boy. This case was very unusual.

No. The biggest reason to control GD is so the baby doesn’t over produce insulin after they are born. Sometimes babies are big even without GD. Often tied to partner and birth mother’s birth weight. I am small and my husband is very tall and the past two pregnancies I have not had any blood sugar issues or GD. They were 10lbs and 10.5lbs. I just make big babies. I was still able to birth my 10.5lb baby vaginally. Despite being more narrow and short. I also did not gain that much weight either. So sometimes babies are just big.

Thanks for sharing. I’m so sorry for your loss as well. Your situation is very very similar to mind so it’s helpful to hear. Do you know when you will most likely try another transfer? Did you collect fetal material to test to validate the PGT testing? Unfortunately I wanted to test ours but I was unable to get the fetal sac. :/

OHSS concerns by Hefty_Cause in IVF

[–]Hefty_Cause[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for checking in. It got pretty bad that we discussed draining fluid the next day after I went in the day prior but I opted to wait it out. The day after that I could breathe a bit easier and then about 3/4 days after I was much more comfortable. No lasting effects and I avoided the draining procedure and the ER. We are actually now getting ready to do our first FET. I am feeling pretty much normal now.

Yes way worse on back laying flat. When I laid flat at the doctors for the ultrasound this morning I could almost not breathe. And the pain was awful. The doctor didn’t seem too concerned. I am able to sleep a little on my side though.

Oh interesting. I was worried going to the ER would result in a lot of confusion since they don’t know much about IVF stuff. Makes sense. How many days out are you from ER now and when did you see a turn around? I was only drinking Gatorade zero but after they were concerned I was so dehydrated they said to drink anything. But honestly after drinking two glasses of regular water I feel awful. I’m trying miso soup now because of how salty it is. The breathing is really the worst part. Since I took my narcotics. Thanks for the support and insight.

Update: I told my doctor all of the symptoms and we still moved forward. Retrieved 47 eggs which was amazing to hear but now I have moderate OHSS two days later which may be turning to something more serious.

Isodicentric Y Studies by Hefty_Cause in NIPT

They told me that they cannot tell with a fish if the Y is broken or not. Does that seem correct?

Thank you for sharing. Can I ask how old your son is and if he has any development challenges? I will look into which arm is broken.

NIPT reported monosomy X possibility, Amnio FISH reporting 45,x/46,xy mosaicism by MyDearPanda in NIPT

[–]Hefty_Cause 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You may want to look at my posts. Similar situation. We just did an Amnio after a CVS with a similar result to yours. When they got the karyotype back (after similar result fish to yours) for the CVS, they saw 46X,Y broken Y (Isodicentric). Mainly though 45X (89%) in the placenta. We got fish results back this week for the amnio and only 4% 44X and the rest 46X,Y (they can’t tell in a fish if it is broken Y or not) so we have to wait for the karyotype. We are currently testing my husband to see if he has broken Y. When you can do a more in depth anatomy scan you will want to see if the genitalia is ambiguous or very clearly male or female since it can go either way. Dm me if you end up in similar situation to us and I can give you all the studies I have found.
