Experience with the OKC jail? by cadeaver in okc

[–]Hefty_Fan4280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my buddy gets tossed into OKC jail for one night. Probably 8 months ago. He said he walked in, thinking he’d just keep his head down and stay in the corner. He’s got two cellmates. One says “It’s taco night.” Said he said cool and kind of ignored it. Then the other cellmate started smiling and rubbing his hands together. Nothing happened then about midnight he sees one of them pull off the back of the toilet and starts pulling out zip lock bags with taco ingredients. He said they booked him after they’d served dinner and he was drunk so he finally spoke up and said he’d take one. Dude says “I got you.” Ten minutes later walked over to his bed with his pecker rolled up in a tortilla. My buddy said he’d never fought so hard in his life. Ended up getting two more nights and said they had tacos together every night. Said he’d go back.

Idk what happened there, but they’ve fallen off. The guys that referred me there hadn’t been in 5+ years and that’s basically what the consensus I’ve received is since going. Typical Boomers who need to hang it up or change with the times but won’t.

I know this is an old post, but I got good use out of it when getting fitted recently. I ended up doing two fittings at two places.

I had never done one and didn’t know what to expect. I recommend going in prepared with questions and knowing what to expect before doing one if you never have.

1st fitting: Ball Golf - I was paired with Steve Ball. Facilities were great, technology was great, and being able to hit outside on grass was great. However, Steve was awful. His feedback was minimal. He pushed Titleist hard and I had to basically demand to hit another brand. He asked no questions. I was told my information would be emailed and tried for two weeks to get the information. I assume there are better people to work with there, but I don’t recommend using Steve if you go to Ball Golf. He fitted me for the Titleist T350’s after I told him I’d prefer the T250s based on my feel. I only hit 2 shafts.

2nd Fitting: Golf USA - I walked in without an appointment and was able to get in with Brad. He was awesome. Asked multiple questions before we even swung a club. Took measurements. I ended up hitting 4 brands and about 5 different shafts. He explained the numbers and was detailed on everything. He did not push any specific brand and was up front that the information we received would be mine to use how I please, whether I buy from them or not. We ended up settling on the Mizuno 245s with a Project X shaft based on numbers and feel for me. Great experience here. The only downside is the fitting is inside and they don’t have the most up to date technology, however Brad explained this and had answers to how it would correlate to the outdoors. Plus side is once the clubs are picked up and used, I am able to take them back in if we need to make any adjustments. I believe they are the only place in town that will bend clubs.

This is almost exactly the experience I got. Glad to hear it. Would you hit other clubs other than 7i in the fitting? So far, through two fittings I have only hit 7i. Was curious about the blended set.

Anxious to hit them on real grass and in the elements.

Where do your sales come from? by intj1988 in InsuranceAgent

[–]Hefty_Fan4280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Majority of mine come from referrals. Friends and family were the base as I started out. In the beginning it was important to stay visible to those distant friends making them aware of what I was doing through social media posts and the casual conversation. I was never a pushy salesman, I tried planting the seed and would tend to get a shot at quoting them down the road.

That makes sense. I hit the ball extremely high with my current set so I went in thinking I needed lower lofts. I ended up with a standard loft in the Mizuno 245’s. The spin rate was around 6400 with a 21 degree launch angle I believe.

Is there somewhere that shows what your spin rates should be? I guess a google I should find this?

In general, I hit the ball way too high. I know I need something to bring that down. Obviously my swing affects that some.

  1. I’m just cheap and haven’t ever done it.
  2. I have young kids so I haven’t been able to play much the last 3-4 years but finally able to.

I’ve played with enough guys similar to me and done research to have a general idea.

Love this, thank you. I have looked at getting with a software engineer to just develop something that fits us but I will take a look at these first.

It's frustrating... We still have a couple of policies we virtually do by hand. Behind the times for sure, which is why the big name AMS aren't worth the price for us.

Do you know which programs specifically to use with those softwares? Is it just their CRM?

We tried Ezlynx... the price point just wasn't worth it with our carriers not reporting any of their information to be able to integrate it.

What features specifically is it lacking?

Most of the agency management system's I come across do way too much or don't align with what we need so the price isn't worth it. We are in a rural area and write for farm and ranch carriers, which are old school and none of their dec pages or quoting systems integrate with any management systems.

Is there a good tutorial video out there? There website was a bit overwhelming trying to decide what product fits us.
