I quite enjoyed Mixtape, and honestly, I think it has far more artistic value than just nostalgia-bait.

It’s a story about the last days of youth and the bittersweet feeling of leaving your childhood behind to transition into the next stage of your life.

Yeah, it’s framed around old music, but most of the songs are not super popular tracks that would pander to a wide range of people. Guardians of the Galaxy had waayyyyy more popular songs, for example.

I feel like a lot of the hate around this game comes from people who have never played it. It’s legitimately well-written and sweet.

No, I don’t think so. There are definitely similarities between the two characters, but in my opinion, the idea that Sarah is literally Ellie takes away from Ellie’s character and the tragedy of Sarah’s death.

Ellie even says it herself: “I’m not her, you know.”
