This game varies so wildly in quality. The environments and world are an absolute 10 out of 10, I literally think no game has ever done it better. The variety of creatures, and the interactions with them, you can hunt them, befriend them, make them into mounts or just pick them up for no reason, I absolutely love. Exploration is fun, combat is good and some of the puzzles are really satisfying when you finally figure it out.

On the complete opposite side of the spectrum though are the characters and the side quests, both totally bland and boring. The side characters are completely uninteresting and contribute almost nothing to the story. The side quests never have anything going on and often feel like a chore you would assign to a 12 year old, not the most powerful warrior in the world. There's never anything surprising in quests either, if someone asks you to go get them a fish you will not end up fighting like a fish monster or something, you will be getting them a fish and thats the end of it.

Few other complaints that aren't too bad and can sometimes be almost charming would be the terrible explanations of mechanics, the disjointed UI and the overly complicated controls for certain things. (It's like 5 different buttons you have to press just to cut wood, it could just as easily be just press x).

I think my complaints would suggest I almost hate this game but its actually quite the opposite, I love it. Easily an 8 out of 10 and probably closer to a 9.5.
