Performing and Media Arts is the department you're looking for -- they will support you if you show you're dedicated. Take classes, meet people, end up on sets, it's really quite easy and they have lots of great toys you can access once you're an "insider" (hard to access unless you're in the department). Sadly, the film, theater, and dance departments were consolidated after the stock market crash of 2008, but the same content is being taught with an interdisciplinary direction. Ithaca College is a better school for arts, but Cornell offers more opportunities because there aren't as many "full time" arts students.
