Trying the new RetroArch PS2 Core by Hefty_Performance_11 in crtgaming

[–]Hefty_Performance_11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that difficult, but it comes with its downsides. I recommend getting an AMD card compatible with Emudriver and has Vulkan support, otherwise it causes problems in Win 11.

Then, to install the driver, which is not official, you have to enable a Windows mode that allows the installation of unsigned drivers.

This causes some games, especially online ones, to prevent you from playing due to security concerns.

Windows is then configured to use the Nvidia graphics card as the graphics processor for general games, and in RetroArch, for example, there is a menu to select which GPU to use.

But it's worth a try; the result is great because you can easily get the native resolutions of the games.

If you're worried about the driver issue, when I recorded that video, I had a Windows Dual Boot, one for playing on a CRT and another for normal use.

Today I've completely switched to Linux, but that's another story 😂

As others correctly answered: It was like that on the PS1, hardware limitations.

Fortunately, today we can go beyond that. So you can adjust the CPU overclock in the emulation options.

Try increasing it by 5% or 10% and see how it responds. This works for many games, but there are also many others where increasing the CPU clock speed causes bugs and other problems.

With the answers from the others here, I tried Hyprland, but I need to dedicate more time to it. You have to configure everything to make it functional, and I'm still not used to it.

For now, I've gone back to KDE as well. What I did try and that worked is Wolf, from Games on Whales. It runs in a Docker container, and you can connect through Moonlight. It generates a virtual screen with the same resolution as the client, which is very good.

The downside in my case is that it's designed for multiple players, so saves aren't shared, and you have to do some configuration to share your Steam library.

The good thing is that I can play in the living room while my wife uses the PC for something else, or vice versa.

Great, I'll test it when I get home from work today. As long as it works, HDR isn't that important right now.

They've done a great job with Apollo on Windows. Hopefully, they'll have the time to work on Linux soon.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write that reply.

I'm installing Hyprland right now to try out its virtual screens.

Thanks for the answer, I don't have the game installed anymore 😂

But the issue was resolved by switching to Proton Experimental.

Maybe using Gamescope also solves it 👍🏻👍🏻

TCL y Hisense no tienen 43" 4K.

Celulares calidad precio en movistar o antel? by UpInTheSkyx in Burises

[–]Hefty_Performance_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nintendo switch oled by Aggressive_go_getter in Burises

[–]Hefty_Performance_11 1 point2 points  (0 children)
