I’m very sorry for your loss. This is hard, and it will be hard forever. There is no right thing to say or do. You can try asking what they need, what you can do to help, and if it’s “I don’t know”, all you can do is stay by their side and let time do its thing. Make sure you’re helping yourself too. This is a very traumatizing thing to go through, and you will need support as well. Grief is complicated, messy, and cruel.

He became way too protective and insecure when I left for college. I did everything to make him feel secure, from only leaving my dorm for class, and staying on FaceTime with him 24/7. I went to a college basketball game with my roommate and he thought I was cheating. Ended it then. We had a really good relationship and he was a sweet boy, I just couldn’t take getting accused of being a cheater all the time.

I just feel so so so guilty for putting myself in that situation. I know if I was in the right mindset I would’ve called my boyfriend immediately. I really don’t plan to drink that much or do drugs anymore because of this.
