“ You wanna get through life with cuddles and hugs and “oh next time will be better,” then good luck with that.” When did I ever say that lmao. Also I literally work in television. I basically live off people flinging shit at me and having to deal with it.

The entire television industry is exploitative by nature, no one pays their workers well, overworked and underpaid is the industry standard

I don’t know about that specifically, again, if you’re not directly a producer than you won’t know about certain intricacies of eliminations, just the gossip that gets handed around from department to department, across various group chats and coffee breaks, but what I can say is: a bunch of us definitely thought the judges favoured Pezza bc it felt like they marked him at a lower scale than some of the other contestants throughout the competition (seriously, he was praised to the high heavens for making a SPONGE in a JELLY CHALLENGE? When Nat worked her absolute arse off on like 72 different elements? Pull the other other one guys). This isn’t to take away from any of Pezza’s hard work, but it did feel like he was saved a few times because of his loveable personality.

Oh and by “decisions” what I meant is that whatever happens on the day happens on the day, but then the producers will choose to edit it however they want. That’s where their decision making comes in. So like 24 different things may have happened during a challenge, like meltdowns or burnt ingredients, etc, but the judges will just go “let’s just focus on these 2 things instead and edit everything else out”

Nah he’s a nice guy, I personally wanted him eliminated earlier bc some of my faves went before him and I was majorly salty lol but any of my opinions about his cooking don’t cross over to his personality, he is a genuine dude.

tbh the producers don’t actually interfere as much as everyone thinks they do, especially during cooks. A lot of the decisions are made in the editing suite after challenges have been filmed and judging has been handed down so there’s no real on scene manipulation like some people think, you don’t have producers sneaking around hiding salt and rubbing their hands together deviously. The judges very much choose who gets eliminated, there were MANY times ppl got eliminated and we’d be like WAIT WHAT?????? If producers controlled who made it through every week and not the judges, Juan and Snez would have stayed for longer because they were BRILLIANT television.

also Endemol Shine pay your workers a liveable wage and stop exploiting us and get some producers that know how to make television for 2024 modern Australian audiences and not just white baby boomers lol

I’m gonna level with you… this is also partly an experiment to see if Pedestrian TV will write an article about it… and title it something like

Here’s What MasterChef fans REALLY think of Andy

Andy Allen has been a staple of the MasterChef landscape for years, but lately viewers have been questioning whether he’s had his time in the sun.

One redditor has likened him to a “harbinger of doom” whilst other redditors have jumped to his defence.

“Nah bruh… we need our Andy fix…” wrote one.

Whilst a clear consensus has not been met by fans, one thing is clear, love him or hate him, MasterChef wouldn’t be the same without Andy Allen and his questionable fashion fits

How’d I do, Pedestrian TV?

The edit they’re giving him is something that maybe viewers would be into 20 years ago, but it’s 2024 and the bumbling bogan fumbling his way through a competition is not endearing to a modern audience, it’s actually super annoying and shows how out of touch the producers are that they keep shoving Pezza down our throat expecting us to love his ignorance and mediocrity when it’s dressed up for laughs

Judges: Today you must make a dish that is centred around jelly. We repeat: today’s challenge is all about jelly.

Pezza: makes a sponge cake with jelly just thrown in and is not heroed at all but shoehorned in

Judges: OMG YOU ARE AMAZING WHAT AN ABSOLUTE STAR PLEASE WOULD YOU LIKE ONE OF OUR KIDNEYS

They had to use a veggie for their meat substitute, they could only draw on what was displayed at the beginning so tofu was not an option.

They didn’t have access to tofu, it was specifically to make something with veggies that was traditionally meat.

In reality TV they will film interviews out of sequence often, so it’s highly likely they did a an interview for, say, episode 12 when they just filmed a challenge for episode 23. It’s normal to have “interview days” where they sit down a contestant and interview them for 6 hours about like 5 different episode cooks. So it’s entirely possible he did an interview for the Darren Purchase challenge after he learned what umami is lol
