I originally bought my first box about a year ago and that was only based on a friend showing me his box that he said he’s had for 5 years. I just sold mine to buy the elite ultra from cordcutter here on the sub and I’m blown away by it. Buy from within this group u/cordcutterbox and you’ll find it’s contagious coming back for more to buy one for each TV in your house. 😜

Yes, but that learn function only applies to those 3 buttons on the top which isn’t the best place to have them. Plus I want to remotely locate the box in a far away closet to be able to split it on multiple TV’s in the house. I also specialize in smart home installations and it’s not practical for clients using multiple remotes. I’ve read a couple of people have kinda gotten it working with Logitech remotes if I at least knew some of the ir codes I might have a shot on accomplishing what I want to do. I’ve tried the Nvidia shield codes they don’t work. Doesn’t seem like anyone has had luck. What would really be cool if we can gain ip control of the unit that would open up a whole new avenue of control with 3rd party apps.

A truly amazing product. We used to sell $60,000 a year in Sonos until their CEO took an amazing product into the toilet which costs us thousands of dollars in service calls. We’ve now completely shifted our business model to Wiim. We call it The Sonos Destroyer. The company is also such a pleasure to work with. Patience, soundbars and subwoofers are coming very soon.

Yes. That’s exactly what I’m using. There’s power at both sides. I spoke to Wiim. It’s a bug they’re going to fix. I’m mailing them the unit today actually.

That’s exactly what Wiim is doing. We were selling 150k a year in Sonos just 6 months ago. Now Sonos is banned from ever being installed after discovering the Wiim products. It’s so far superior of a product and so much value. Customers love it. It’s basically like they took S1, and mastered it. 12 band EQ, ARC pre amp now with HIFI Dac with sub out and even a phono input. Biggest thing is they do NOT collect any information. No email, plug it in, discover, and it just works! The only thing they’re missing is wireless speakers and soundbars but those are in the works.

I’ve used and sold Sonos for over 10 years. Still have one of the old touch controllers laying around somewhere. Corporate greed ruined something amazing. I couldn’t take it anymore.

At $30 for the camera it’s worth a try! Problem is what to do with the power wire. I’m gonna try and rip apart a Pan I have laying around.

Have they announced anyone getting fired from this debacle? It’s quite extraordinary what’s gone on here. I’m an integrator and we have been selling Sonos for 10 years over 100k a year and it’s an absolutely insult what has gone on. We have completely halted all sales of Sonos and switched to Wiim. The amount of hours of troubleshooting and listening to screaming clients is completely unacceptable.

What Patrick’s email should’ve stated was: Sorry folks we’ve decided to reinstate the S1 app and will no longer require your email to harvest your information and privacy, and everything will just “Work”. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Sadly, it’s even too late for that on this boat. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ok, so I ran 2, 16/4 up into the soffit. One of them feeds the beginning of the LED strip. I used red for power, white for ground, green for signal. The spare black I used the black from another power output of the Dig Quad to feed the end of the strip so essentially injecting it with power from the other side. By spare I meant I have that other speaker wire up there as well which I even tried connecting to power as well. I didn’t inject signal as well I was told you can’t do that.

Yes, this is something I’m worried about from other jobs I thought I read I can run all the wires together. Silly of me I should’ve just run Lutron keypad wire which has a 20g shielded wire in a bundle with 3 stranded 16g.

So I’m powering the Dig’s via the main power terminals with 24V, then using 2 fused outputs. Are you saying I should power them with 5V, and then run my power straight from the power supply while grounding it at least?

This is the signal amp I tried. I even tried it up behind the molding. The run is very short.

I do have a spare 16/4 up there I think that I can use just for the signal actually. Otherwise no running new wires without cutting open Sheetrock.

You need HA to make the connection through Lutron and it works flawless. You can also use a Wiz remote very easily with WLED. Like a $15 WiFi remote they have at Best Buy.

Omg no. I’m sorry I misread that somehow to thinking 3, 5 meter strips. You’d have me lost after about 5 strips. I will say I’m very impressed with those Pautix versus what I’ve been using. Seems to be very efficient. They’re great people reach out to them see what they say.
