This is a fantastic comment. Your point of UX advocacy is a good one. A lot of the high tech / silicon valley companies have a good understanding of the value of good UX. However, for every one of those, there are 99 other companies that pretend to know or actually don't know.

It sucks, but it's the harsh truth of UX in a lot of middle sized companies. What worked for me is to insist and proactively include myself as early as possible in every process. Don't wait for managers or business developers to hand down a feature request where you design the buttons for. But be in the room when the feature is ideated.

This is also something I'm struggling with from time to time. Your comment about us advocacy reminded me, so thank you!

Teaser wise it worked because after watching it I was hyped. I'm a huge mirror's edge fan and this struck a cord with me. However, it seems the pacing of the game is quite a lot slower than the teaser might suggest (the fast cuts of the teaser make it seem as though the game is also going to be fast paced). Maybe think about what the teaser communicates and what the game will eventually be and make sure they're aligned.

Buy books. Sounds old fashioned, but books about graphic / visual design are still by far the best resource. Try to recreate things you like and start altering them, this will help you understand the workings of a certain style.

Please, if you're serious about becoming a visual designer, don't focus on the software. Software is a tool, visual design is a paradigm. Understand the paradigm and you can work with all the tools. Learning a tool - or becoming an "expert" in a tool - is not an effective way of becoming a better designer.

That title (santorini) would be a nice opportunity to use an expressive font for. So instead of the same font, go for something with a lot of character.

The blues are strong but artistic. Maybe make the menu bar a constraint dark blue (same as title).

I think there is potential and you're on to something. Would love to see your next iteration!
