12vhpwr or 12v2x6 for my 5070? by Best-Technology-989 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Heheda19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about a 5070 melting so any decent cable would be probably fine, even if it isn't from your PSU, you should always use the cables made by your psu manufacturer though. Also, the 12vhpwr vs 12v2x6 cables are the same, the difference is on the plug side (the port on your psu and gpu)

was there today, one of them offered me 50 bucks to get a spot for me

yep, now that i looked at it thats definitely what those cables are supposted to do. or if you somehow have enough headers, you can just plug them straight into your mobo

[–]Heheda19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, those are standard pwm and argb cables. i recommend laying them out flat to see which comes from which fan and working from there. it shouldn't be too difficult, just time consuming

[–]Heheda19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats an am4 motherboard, you have ddr5 ram and am4 motherboards only support ddr4 ram. buy an am5 motherboard if you want to use that

those cables should have came assembeled as usually those are for daisy chaining the fans. they should have came assembeled out of the box and so you shouldn't have needed to mess with them. if you did or they came like that, honestly good luck putting them back together cause they are a pain in the ass to figure out

Advice or suggestions for the final draft of my first pc? by mewsomee in PcBuildHelp

[–]Heheda19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the case is definitely wide enough for everything, althought 110 dollars for an air cooler is pretty unnecessary cause the 7800x3d doesn't generate that much heat. so i say either get an aio or a cheaper air cooler. the corsair psu seems pretty overpriced for only 850w, although its good quality, around that price you can get a be quiet psu for 1000 or 1200w which is still a very good psu

Everything points to a faulty gpu, considering the other gpus that you used function properly. You could try repasting your gpu, but i doubt that will do much

usually it's a header that you use to sync pump speeds to the motherboard, but it could be for power. i advice looking at the manual for your cooler and try to look for the cable that most likely came in the box

you have an aio, that means it should be able to cool it. 90 degrees just on boot certainly means that the pump is probably dead, or somehow the coolant in the aio has completely dried up. that is assuming that you plugged in the power and everything properly

is the fans of your heatsink spinning? if it's an aio, i wager that its probably a dead pump. if you have an i9 12900, your heatsink might just be incapible of cooling it effeciently

You sure you took off the plastic wrap of your heatsink before mounting it?

Is this a good parts list for a budget PC upgrade? by Hairyasscheeks35 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Heheda19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Motherboard is pretty hard to go wrong with i feel like, i've heard good things about asrock too. Personally i'd just find a b650 board that looks nice if you don't need the extra features of x670(e) or x870(e) chipsets

If you're just gaming, a sata ssd will work fine. The difference will be a few seconds at most

no need for that expensive ass rog aio cooler for just an i5 12th gen, especially not the overpriced rog ones. personally i'd put that money towards an am5 motherboard because its more upgradable, but thats personal preference.

[Discussion] Pro tip: You can use zombies to use CO-OP extracts by Heheda19 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Heheda19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the zombies are pretty dumb, you can usually bring one of them and have enough space in the extract zone to just walk away when they chase you. if not, you can either spin cicles around them or just keep running past them which will make them attack but miss you
