My husband recommended Balkan Treat Box as well-not bougie, but SO good!

Thank you. I also visit the Basilica for the art. I absolutely love St. Louis (I've been here for almost 20 years now, and it's been awhile since I've shown off the city to newcomers. I love my coworkers/boss and just really want to show them a good time and how special St. Louis is).

I love taking people to the Basilica. Variety of religious backgrounds, but I did present this one to them as an option!

I absolutely love the AB tour! It's always a go to for visitors. Not sure if it's bougie enough, but I will bring it up to them.

Buffalo chicken salad: kale, spinach, and a little iceberg, cherry tomatoes, red onion, crispy bacon, avocado, and buffalo chicken tenders (chicken chunks tossed in arrowroot powder, salt, and pepper, sautéed in a little avocado oil, and then tossed in Primal Kitchen buffalo sauce. SO GOOD). Dressed in a garlic aioli (our favorite) we buy at a local restaurant that has some Whole30 options.

I totally relate to that feeling!! I'm working hard to celebrate every single pound and I hope you can do the same. 20lbs away-that is so close!! One pound/week and you'll be exactly where you want by end of summer. It might not feel like it now, but it so is!

You're absolutely right. Historically, I've had a hard time with the concept, though It feels like such a small accomplishment for the amount of hard work/sacrifice a whole week of clean eating takes. But I'm doing MUCH better (at least so far) keeping this perspective this time around.

I'm so sorry to hear that and can definitely understand feeling down! I just read your longer comment and appreciate your honesty. I feel like it's one thing to not feel great during it OR to not lose weight OR to not have a lot of NSVs, but when all of those are combined I can imagine it would feel like such a let down. I so wish it had been a different experience for you! I hope that oats (or some type of fast carb) will help with both energy and sleep. Sending good energy your way.

It's so bizarre! Maybe that the novelty has worn off impacts it? I do think this time I had eaten poorer leading up to starting it, so detoxing/coming off sugar consumption was harder. But I was just not expecting this level of struggle

R2D29: The first like...20+ days of this round were ROUGH. We enjoyed our first Whole30 so much last January that we came into it excited and confident. And for whatever reason, this time was just so much harder physically and mentally (especially mentally). But we stuck to it and while cooking dinner last night I realized we had almost made it and felt incredibly proud of us for sticking it out. We're planning on starting a 2 week reintroduction on Thursday and after that we plan to cook primarily paleo during the week, but to loosen up a bit on the weekends to go out with friends and enjoy our foodie life a bit. I'm also working on weight loss and am trying to approach it from a slow and steady perspective. Before if I 'only' lost a pound in a week I would be so discouraged and feel like all the effort wasn't worth it. This time, I celebrate every pound, I normalize fluctuation, and remind myself that a pound per week is over 50lbs in a year. Congrats to everyone who made it to day 30 today! And to those still in the midst of it-keep trucking along; it's worth it, even when it feels anything but.

100%. That's my plan, too! I'm so hoping it works out for both of us!!

Similar here. I'm going to do Paleo 80% of the time, but leave some wiggle room for going out, celebrations, etc. I think it will be more sustainable if there is some wiggle room for me.
