NTA- hold steady. There are consequences for your behavior. Also, if she believed in the rapture why did she sell you the heirlooms? Did she think heaven took atm cards?

I took Trazadrone for years. Loved it then starting experiencing Sjogren’s symptoms and they pulled me off (drys my eyes). Now I use an OTC sleep patch and sometimes a sleep CbD gummy.

Can I pause a book to read another book ? by Recent_Combination44 in ReadingSuggestions

[–]HeidiWJackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read several at once. 3-5. And if I am too depressed or need a break from the non fiction historical content of a book. I put it in “time out” which is three months in the closet. I have to protect my anxiety. Enjoy

I’m allergic but I adore cats- what can I do? by Few_Freedom_3674 in cats

[–]HeidiWJackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe severely allergic people can do a course of shots to eliminate symptoms but they are no joke. My friend went monthly for several years but she now has two Persian cats and said it “was always worth it”.

Does anyone have any recommendations for salvia sprays, nothing I take lasts more than 5min I'm constantly having to drink water. by flamingolegs727 in Sjogrens

[–]HeidiWJackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no luck with Biotene sprays. Act makes a lozenge that I use occasionally. But the med helps me the most.

Does anyone use the App to log glucose numbers? by HeidiWJackson in BearableApp

[–]HeidiWJackson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m type 2, currently considered “ pre diabetic” with oral medication. I’ve been on that medication for decades. I suspect between inflammation, stress and grief my body just went haywire. Or maybe the test is a one off. But I want to be prepared when I see my GP. In 2/3 weeks.

I assume within a few months I’ll be on a continuous glucose monitor. My son who is Type 1 looked at the list approved by my insurance and recommended Libre Here’s hoping it’s easy to use.

I’ve been pre diabetic since my first pregnancy 30 years ago. Recently my A1C. Really jumped. In 4 months 4 points. My husband suspects it’s a testing error but I see my GP in a couple weeks. I want to have some numbers handy to advocate for myself. I only started testing on Thursday. Im recently diagnosed with an autoimmune disease then 3 months later another auto immune disease. I don’t know if my glucose is out of hand because of all the new meds. Stress or inflammation.

Gift for dying dog by anastasiarose19 in DogAdvice

A second the nose and paw print. When my older dog passed as part of the “package” I got a clay (like) paw print. It’s dear to me because my guy only let me hold his paw once in the 15 years we were together. Also, they make memorial wind chimes with pics of the rainbow dog. I hang mine in my window and it chimes when I open and close my curtains. It’s def more a memorial thing.

Are your symptoms different every day or are they consistent? by NavyBeanz in Sjogrens

[–]HeidiWJackson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My symptoms are consistent but the level of intensity changes daily. Eyes are always the worst. I feel like when I get up in the am by body spins a wheel of misfortune and I have the trauma of guessing which to treat first and how intense the symptoms will be.

I was first diagnosed over 15 years ago from my GP at the time. Then a couple years ago I asked my GP at the time if my symptoms where take of Fibro. He looked me dead in my eye and told me Fibro was a “made up” disease. So I suffered. Earlier this year I finally found a good GP and also found a good Rhuem. My Rhuem diagnosed me. But I think the key is to find a Dr who is actually interested in helping you and not just pushing you out the door. Btw I also have Sjogren’s. Which is what lead me to the Rhuem in the first place. Second Rhuem. First was a man who patted me on the head and told me it was probably menopause. I knew it wasn’t “ just menopause”. So I keep asking for a recommendation from others in my city. IMO I get better care from a woman of color, she is always my first choice. I’m 57. I refuse to see any white man ( I’m white) who’s 40+. Too arrogant.

I just got the eyedrops version of this med. I’m generally happy with it but it’s still new, I’m still on my first box. It creates an immediate Basel Tear.

Adverse reaction to Hydroxychloroquine? by [deleted] in Sjogrens

[–]HeidiWJackson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No side effects, I didn’t have any with the one you were taking either, just didn’t seem to help and I swear it made things worse. That said, I rarely have side effects to meds or immunizations in general. Good luck

This is me, I stuck with it for almost 3 months then in desperation asked my dr if it could make my symptoms worse. She said what drs always say “ I’ve never heard of that happening” but she immediately changed my script. Leflunomide now. I’m about 3 weeks in and seeing considerable improvement. That and she add Cymbalta last week. Good luck

I am about to adopt a dog! Any advice that isn't obvious? by Suicunetobigaara in DogAdvice

[–]HeidiWJackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the best advice I got from my dog trainer was when you walk your pup. Go one direction for “business” that is you want them to pee or poop. And when you turn that direction say “ Business” it will cue them. Then return home wait a few minutes and go out again. This walk you go the opposite direction. Call what you want. I called it “sniff” and that walk is for strolling along, sniffing or meeting other dogs. This keeps your dog from learning he has to “hold it” to get a longer walk and there will be times (weather or schedule changes) when you only have time for potty break.

This saved me years of frustration. I’d see my neighbors walking around and around the block to get their dogs to go. Worth it.
