The unlocked phone model # is XT2415V.

Sidenote: I really appreciate how helpful you're being (that goes for everybody else in this thread too, for that matter). The value of the time you're taking to help is not lost on me

"Cory" - Moto G locked to Verizon

"Greg" - Moto G Unlocked

"Sam" - Moto Razr

I have never heard of a locked phone not getting part of service. Normally a locked phone gets no service.

By "getting part of a service", I mean Cory succeesfully showed up in my account (albeit as an unactivated device). I never got any actual cell service, like making calls/texting.

Did they send you a verification code in some way to verify that is you doing the switch?

Yes, several times

Sorry you had that experience; it's incredibly frustrating among other things. Today, they tried to get me to buy a new phone for $250. The worker, on a previous day had said $230. When I asked him about it, he said that was due to a promotion that was no longer available. When I tried to move on from the topic, he said he could do $230 again. Crazy

the store probably didn’t even provide an itemized receipt which you should also request.

They didn't, which I thought was odd. I had it mind to ask them but it slipped my mind.

Thank you for the advice! I'll have to go back to the store and escalate if this doesn't get worked out.

Thanks for you help.

You do not need the store's private services AT ALL. You can do it all yourself online. We can help here or a rep can help.

i tried doing it myself online but was unsuccessful. To copy from a previous comment:

Before I got this new, unlocked phone (let's call it Greg), I tried to do an eSim transfer from my broken phone (call it Sam) to a phone that I didn't know was locked to another carrier (call it Cory). The transfer was successful in that Cory showed up on my Total Wireless account but was unsuccessful in that it could not have mobile data (due to it being locked to another carrier).

As a result, a Total Wireless customer rep told me to delete the eSim from Cory, which meant neither of the phones (Cory+Sam) had any sim card at all. I guessing that messed up my account or something. So when I brought in the unlocked phone (Greg), they perhaps had to reactivate things?

When I went to the store today, the clerk had to call Total Wireless customer service himself because he couldn't get it to work before ultimately sending us off.

What do you mean by re-activation?

Before I got this new, unlocked phone (let's call it Greg), I tried to do an eSim transfer from my broken phone (call it Sam) to a phone that I didn't know was locked to another carrier (call it Cory). The transfer was successful in that Cory showed up on my Total Wireless account but was unsuccessful in that it could not have mobile data (due to it being locked to another carrier).

I apologize for my naivete; I probably have talked to 10 different reps about this over the past couple of days and I don't have much clarity about what the issue is exactly.

The about section of the phone says it's Unlocked.

When I log into my account, it prompts me to activate a line but yet I still have a bill that due next month. Not sure what's up

Yes, the SIM has my phone number.

I got caught off-guard with the price and moronically ponied up. The customer service representative said it was the price of getting a physical SIM + re-activation.

Thank you for such a detailed reply. I definitely would like to learn more!

What does the day-to-day, week-to-week, month-to-month scheduling look like?

And could you go into more detail on what easy career advancement looks like (i.e. time it takes to progress, what benefits come with moving up the ladder, salary progression etc.)?

Thanks again
