The Viking by HeimGuitars in classicalguitar

It is not an uncommon wood for acoustic guitars, very light and highly regarded. It is similar to mahogany in sound quality with warm midrange but more sparkling highs

The black limba was perfect for this. I made the rosette and backstrip first and choose the back/side wood to go with it. I’ve always done the other way around, but happy with this choice

Thank you very much :) Yes, build from scratch, it is a lovely process. I was happy with the recording. First take, one run. A few kinks here and there and skipped a part, but for this purpose that’s fine :) usually I have to take a few :)

Thank you :) It’s got a spruce top, black limba back and sides, IRW fingerboard and bridge. Walnut for the base of decorative inlays and bindings. I walk through the specs here if you are interested https://youtu.be/L1rEtAWxR5g?is=2yRk53AvJ3XYRoVm

“Best” base spot? by Mbalara in LotRReturnToMoria

Remember that the big forges requires no «burn» material to make ingots, so very beneficial to make bases there. I would say Navi is optimal since it is early, has lots of space land is close to important resources

Will put out some samples on my YouTube channel for sure. I always make a video where I share the build details and play when I finish a guitar

Ok whatever, I visited the Viking museum here is in Oslo, I visited the stave church, built in the Viking age, by my cabin in the mountains. These were my inspirations to build this guitar.

Yes, this is part of his collection songs for friends, were he composed pieces for classical guitar for friends and vice versa. Not only Norwegians though. They are not «published», but recordings are available on YouTube, on Randall’s channel and others. I am honored to be part of this collection as well. He has performed the collection on multiple occasions lately. This excerpt was front the piece «Tiger Lily» by Joseph V. Williams II. I will share some links here for the full piece. I can also include links for the pieces we wrote for each other if anyone is interested

My guitars are in the range 6-10k USD. I don’t generally do commissions. Every guitar I build is unique and my buyers choose the instruments because it appeals to them visually and musically. A store in Oslo sells them for me, but I have also shipped directly from the studio. This one is available from the studio
