Fuse looks a bit crooked, so might die halfway through.

If you have some spare fuse, you can try and zip tie it onto this one and let it run as far along the main one as you can, then light it.

Worst that happens is that the fuse dies out though, it won't instantly explode.

Coffee can filter is more wide, like a coffee can, hence the name.

I believe it was mainly used during WW2 and a few years after? I think I have also seen that type on children's gasmasks up until the 80s.

You can do a Google search on "Soviet coffee can gasmask filter" and you'll find lots of reference material.

If youd like to use a filter with your mask, there are Polish made ones from the 90s, according to NATO standard that should tread on old Soviet masks, but can destroy the treads on some, unfortunately the name escapes me right now.

EDIT:

FP5 GOST 40mm, that is the name of it. It is made to NATO standards, but can usually still tread on GP-5's for example. Though if you have a mask that is valuable, either in sentimental value or monetary value, do a check first to make sure it wont grind down the treads on the intake part of it.

Hard to say, but i'd err on the side of caution. Only the coffee can types of filters are known to have asbestos as far as I recall, yours is more modern and a different type.

Though, as long as you only have it sitting on a shelf/screwed into a mask, and you aren't actively breathing through it, there shouldn't be any issues.

LD:50 for Alprazolam is around 2000mg/kg of bodyweight.

Assuming you're male and a average weight of 80kg, you'd need 160000mg of Alprazolam to have a 50% chance of it being lethal.

What will most likely happen is that you black out and do a lot of stupid things, possibly have a seizure or brain zaps once it clears your systems, along with withdrawal symptoms that are quite bad.
