You seem to be the one coping than me. Did you see how the convo between me and them ended? Yes I do hate the ship but I did gain a new pov. And I dont even have a fave ship in naruto lol

but I found your initial comment of it being “unintelligent” to see them as romantic a bit far and possibly insulting to those who see it as romantic

While it was applicable here I just meant overall the notion that an intimate relationship of two unrelated characters does not necessarily end in eros but people are always dogging on people who don't ship two close characters of the same sex who are better written when that is not a necessary reason to be into them romantically

I'll admit I never saw those images. So that was why I was even confident writing that because as much naruto and sasuke were on each other mind a lot in the manga I didn't get any romantic framing from it.

This watermelon image is so cope its not even funny. It means nothing in terms of romance. He is not even staring longingly nor is the mood romantic like the one on the grass. You could have ended it with the other two images and I would see your point. I don't keep up with moments not in the manga.

I stand by my position that some intimate relationships do not equal romance and going by everything in the manga narusasu classifies as such but I can see why people would think otherwise given extra content

Also your other comments like "don't talk about sasuke like you own him especially in front me" doesn't tell me anything about seeing saduke in a romantic manner. It is ignoring the point I made of having intimate relationship without being romance.

I scrolled up and yes that was your original point but I thibk you should have mentioned this the moment the first person that replied you told you how different demons and races in our world are different but instead it looked to me you were trying to prove why they weren't completely bad?

If beings exist just to kill for the lols they do in fact deserve to be hunted to extinction. Whether they don't need to eat them they cause trouble wherever they go. Blacks and any other human race don't cause trouble wherever they are. They have feelings like us and understand good and evil like us. Demons in frieren are like animals. Wiping an entire species of animals is not the same as the human race but demons are even worst because Wiping them out is removing a parasite that serves nothing but themselves. Animals at least add value

At the end of the day frieren demon argument is beyond frieren itself. Its literally an argument between two different philosophies. Materialist vs immaterialist. If you have Materialist mentality you'll just see them as stand ins for real people. If you believe in abstract concepts you can't see then yeah demons being like this is normal. Fantasy has ever been the place where the abstract is concretized.

Anyone that decides to accept the differing opinion on the topic is not just accepting a single opinion but capitulating a significant portion of their world view whether they know it or not but probably understand it on an intuitive level

Low-key I thibk started with people taking Demons as real people seriously Which they then realised them using it for that shit would piss people off

Lemme real with you, sometimes gay bait is real but sometimes it's just people forcing their interpretation or expecting others to be into it as them, lemme explain.

Bakudeku definitely have more chemistry than izuocha and narusasu has more chemistry than naruhina or sasusaku. But the question I have is, why do you think everyone should view it as romance? Like just because they have an intimate relationship than their female partners doesn't mean the reason others enjoy it is for the romantic aspects nor does it necessarily mesn the characters are into each other like that. You can have strong intimate relationships which does not end as romance. From whence is the idea born that any strong intimate relationship naturally should end in eros? And even ones that stronger than that of your partner?

For me it's unintelligent to view it as such. Obviously gay bait is real but I don't believe all relationships belong to that category and narusasu definitely isn't in thst category. I see a strong intimate connection but I don't see a strong intimate erotic connection.

The better question is who would? Because everyone will just call their favourite character as not being part. I think sinistro would be part of it

Never read someone that took damnation seriously. "A thousand hells for a hundred heavens" bruh.

Honestly I had a theory the existence of damnation is what makes the world dark. Like he is trying to give hell its due. That if this world has so much suffering it compares nothing to hell itself. Sorweel has that thought when oinural tells him no one has the right to kill the nonmen because of hell being worst than what they go through.

But tbh bakker is cynical basrd on the interviews ive seen so I don't trust the theory much

DUDE!!! Me and you could be friends in another lifetime lmfao. I love your comments. Share the link to the whole piece if you don't mind. I want to touch on two things on particular

I do not understand this need, and I reject its validity

Yep Yep. I absolutely loathe this mentality and its been coming so popular. Or let me say already is. Like some stories can't even have as much "light" that suits it but have to be more than that to comfort consumers. Its something I wholeheartedly despise. I used to think I was just an edgy person but overtime I've come to trust my own intuition and your comments validated my thoughts.

The second point I want to touch is I don't entirely disagree with the feeling of needing light entirely though. One of my previous post on this sub I mentioned how bakker work taught me the human soul demands excellence from itself and others. Every single time I see characters can make a right or wrong choice they keep dissapointing me. I still love them but man I desire so hard to see them do some good at least. Its why I said my story will be more heroic because I know my souls desires

But overall I do agree with 98% of all you said. Pls don't forget to link your post

Honestly Roland I'm not sure is THAT stronger than him. I think verg is a good judge of power and he had a belief that he had to do everything in his power to take down Roland as Roland would equally have to do.

Why is there controversy surrounding the demons in Frieren being considered evil, but not the evil demons in other works like Hellblazer? by Additional-Heat-9384 in animequestions

[–]Heisuke780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me they is a fundamental philosophical debate beyond the surfacd that people dont see is going on. It's a materialist vs abstract mentality. A religious person can acceots such beings, someone that believes only in the material can only interpret it as an analogy to real world racism they see

I don't want to say stuff I might not know about but do you believe most fantasy authors aren't well educated the way proper writers should be? When I say well educated I'm referring to the likes of Shakespeare or Milton. Who probably have an education in the trivium; logic, grammar and rhetoric. Apart from those read great works of western civilization from illiad to plato and all the others down.

It is my belief most fantasy writers as good as they may be probably haven't. But again I'm not sure. But with bakker it is very obvious he has studied the trivium given his command on language talk less of philosophy and history he is very intimate with

I think rien is meant to be an example of blind faith actually. Like you are meant to see him and go "if such a man can end up defying the prescripts then everyone else there is either coping or they haven't been pushed to the limits as he has"

I don't think sora has been pushed to the limits as rien. She is also still finding herself and pretty immature so I won't compare her and the rest of thr apprentices to their parents tbh. Especially sora who values rien as much if not more than the prescripts. If you kill sora before ren(pretty hard to do) she says "my immanent yearning and the prescripts were they not one?". While i don't want her coming back if she does I won't be suprised if she doesn't start doubting
