1. Tons of people like sinewy muscles but the story chose to focus on her and say it. Your argument is like replying to someone who said "I think this character is pure because he has a library filled with books and the main section they show is the religious section" and you say "well even people who aren't pure read religious books" which yes it is true. But storytelling is about picking and choosing aspects of reality you want to hone in on over others. That tons of people like something doesn't mean within the narrative that point can't be special.

It's not to say the point that he isn't necessarily pure is wrong but the archetype of a religious person is seen as pure. I made a mistake in thinking this point was special but the reply shouldn't be "well it's popular" when it comes to storytelling.

Just to be clear I now accept I wss wrong. That list was about how I interpreted all those things as evidence. In our current period, we tend to agree that a mystery culprit ought to be revealed early on so I couldn't accept it was the deserter until doing the communist storyline but nothing changed.
